New source of natural color aerials for US

Recommended Posts

I'm always on lookout for color aerials on internet and came across this site today.http://mfengine.nos.noaa.gov/scripts/esrim...erver&cmd=StartIt has natural color aerials of most of the coastal areas of the United States. They look to be about 7-9 meters per pixel. Best of all they are from a government source so there shouldn't be any copywright restrictions. Here's an example of the coverage for Seattle area. I'm working on creating a mosiac of these right now to import using TB so please don't do Seattle. There looks to be great coverage of many other major cities.I don't think the photos are orthocorrected so you might have to have some image editing skills to orthocorrect them before they'll work in FS.Matt Fox

Matt,I am NOT getting joy on this. I went in to look up the area of Niagara Falls, and the search engine came up with plenty of pics with good coverage. But, the listing included two icons only, one with "i" symbol (shows you where the image is on the map) and the other with "sample" image, showing you the sample of Biscayene Key in Fla.How do you get to the actual images? Do you have to order, and if so, how expensive are they?Misho

Sorry....I think you are out of luck. I think maybe they just haven't posted those images yet. I also noticed some areas where it just said "Sample" and brought up a generic picture. In Seattle area, every other image says Sample, but there is 100% overlap so they aren't needed. I don't know about ordering.Matt
