Inconsistent between ATIS & Tower during landing.

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi, I succesfully made FS to use 2 runway, 1 for Landing and 1 for Take Off, with my own experiment. It looks great for AI. However I starting getting confused when I land on those airports, The ATIS always give me the same Rw for TO & Landing, but tower assigned me to another Rw that is supposed to be the landing Rw. During VFR approach, I cannot contact tower right? so I just rely on ATIS, but when I close to airport, the tower gives me another runway, this is quite confusing. My Question is, Is there any way to change for ATIS to give the same landing Rw as tower will give? (not the Ms default one please). Thanks for the answers before then!

Edward, you should contact the tower when VFR (as in real life) when about 10 miles from the airport.they'll give you instructions how to land (e.g.enter left base runway29)the ATIS will give the wrong runway information when you use two active runwaysregards,Seba

First, Thanks to Seba & Tom 4 ur response.Seba: But I think contacting tower when you're already 10 miles on a big jets is really annoying for me :-) (and my passengers :( they will think: "whoa!? delayed again!!??") because I always plan my flights with FSNav, and then export it to ACSGPS, when Active Rw changed from expected Lnd Rw during approach or descent, I can easily change the approach course (based on STAR) through FSNav, and I can enter another STAR for active runway. During descend or approach (about 60-80 miles away) I think we can't contact tower yet aren't we?

Why don't you fly IFR instead of VFR? Then you won't have to contact the tower far away, since Approach will vector you right to the runway.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
