Help with departure times

Recommended Posts

Guest PhilC

I'm really a novice at this and don't understand the GMT time thing exactly right.I have created flights out of an airport that I used AFCAD to add ATC. I added flights using yRoute (nice program) and compiled it. I know that the times are GMT and I believe that Central Time (my TZ) is -6 or -5 hours from GMT. If I want a plane to depart at 9am CDT, what is that in GMT? I get confused. (-: The reason I ask is that I never see any of the flights that I created and just figured that I wasn't there at the right time. Is there something else that I could be missing? Thanks in advance.

(-: The time difference is currently -5 hours, so a flight departing at 12:00:00 GMT will be 7:00:00 CST.Set your sim start time to be about 6:55:00 local) or 11:55:00 GMT to see your a/c.Also, be positive that there is a large enough gate at the airport for that particular a/c! :)

A simple way to be sure about the time difference is:1. Go to that airport in FS.2. Go to World/Time and Season3. Look at the difference between Local Time and GMT.There are some spots where FS got it wrong...Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
