What would be really nice now is...

Recommended Posts

... a little utility (AI Timetable?) that would list and print a timetable for each airport. That is, list the AI arrivals and departures for a selected airport, all sorted by time of day.I really appreciate all the great programs out there that have made creating AI traffic so much easier (and more fun). TTools, AFCAD, Addagate, Taxispeed, AITraffic, yRoute, AITMover - I've used them all (and several others - I apologize for not listing them all), and I'm so impressed! Thus, I ask if anyone would be interested in producing something like this as well.Ideally, it would list:Time (arrival or departure)Ar or DpFrom/To City (i.e where it's going or where it's from)Aircraft Reg No. (where I store aircraft info, i.e. DC6BUAL)Flight No.It would do this for each leg of each flight plan that arrives or departs from this airport. Optionally, if there were plans with repeats of less than 24 hr, it could list these flights more than once (i.e. if the repeat is every 4 hr, it would list an arrival and a departure every 4 hr). I don't have many of these anymore, so not a big deal. That way, at LAX when UAL flight 521 arrived at 4:32 pm, I'd know that it was a flight from San Francisco. I'd also know that the next arrival would be AAL flight 923 from Dallas at 4:38 pm, next followed by the departure of TWA flight 722 to St. Louis at 4:45 pm.Hope this sounds interesting to some of you programmers out there!Thanks,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Hi,I don't know what all others think about that, but I like the idea.If no one else wants to do it I would like to add it to AITM.Note that arrival times are not 100%.RegardsThomas

I would like to put my two cents worth in on this one too. It would be nice if you could put in a graph or a list to show the number of planes at the gates at a given time. That way you would know which airports you would need to increase the number of gates at, and by what amount. I had set something basic up in excel for this, but found it to be a pain when I added new flight plans. One hour increments would be great but 15 minute increments would probably be even better.Mark

Hi Thomas,I was hoping you'd say that... :)I've just starting using AITM and it's great! It has the closest thing to AI Timetable already using the Export feature, but it doesn't list the specific leg(s) of the flights to/from that airport. And yes I understand that arrival times are not exact, but TTools does a reasonable job.I'll be looking forward to it!!Thanks,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Export/Search is close, but does not all. As I said I'll add a new function with a preview of the flights. Then you can easily print. You'll get a new beta today. So you can check if it's okay or not.Thomas

Thomas,If you do this, can you please also add the following feature:Let the user specify a minimum interval for arrivals, say 3 minutes, and adjust all arriving flights that do not meet this criteria by the required amount?Stamatis

"...because the arrival time may vary a lot (winds, etc.)."Not really. AI flights are not really flown for their entire duration in FS, AI aircraft will only appear at a radius of 80 nm around you, anything outside that radius is ignored completely.Their appearance depends only on the calculated arrival time, not taking into consideration winds etc.Stamatis
