AI Speed v1.0 is out !

Recommended Posts

Just saw in the library, AI Speed v1.0 is out (by Andy Robinson). It comes with a manual and 2 programs. One to change the speeds definitely, one to change it on the fly while FS is running (to find the best value). It can change 5 speeds: straight taxi, tight turn, tight turn #2, wide turn, wide turn #2 (see manual). Sounds good to me. Gonna try it in a min. Anyone tried it yet ?PS: folks, let's keep it on topic, no need to go back to the mess that happened recently with this new discovery. And no, I'm in no way associated with any of the two programs available to modify taxi speed.__________________________________________________________EricList of all airlines, aircraft manufacturers and aircraft types recognised by ATC:http://www.geocities.com/eric_2203/orhttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/esearch.php?D...atID=fs2002misc

Kev, (and anyone else who shares this attitude)Please, do not allow what transpired between Lee, Andy and myself to be the reasons you do not utilize freeware tools which will make your enjoyment of FS2K2 better. It is obvious that their tools are superior to anything I have developed and I will take no offense in you doing so.Thanks in advance.-j

Let me first say thank you to all the designers that provide FREE add-ons to the flight sim community. Don't let my attitude sway your decision on what you want to download. Like it could anyway.I apologize for my 'attitude'.Kev

I had a problem when using AIPATCH to adjust the aircraft taxi speed permanently. After i press REfresh button, a error message came out saying 'SIM1.DLL has corrupt data". Is there anyway to fix this problem?BryanCYVR

You need to copy the file "SIM1.DLL" from your FS CD #1 to the modules folder. The file is located in some of the cab files.Thomas

Me too. The file was in the FS2002.CAB file.BTW, I used it this morning and it worked great. The only thing I couldn't change in memory was Sharp Turn #1, because I am using XP (no surprise, I had RTM). I patched FS and set the sharp turns at 5 kts and the wide turns at 7 kts, and it actually *improved* the AI behavior! They are not so "wiggly" anymore, and they turn much more smoothly. It's cool!BTW, if you want a laugh, set the turns at 15 kts - the AI planes will start wandering all over the place, trying to hit the "nodes". They are going so fast they miss, and come around again for another pass. They begin turning in circles, bumping into each other, and it starts looking like total chaos. AI Pinball, anyone? :)-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
