Long distance flight

I've been trying to create the flight for United's 805/806 round trip from San Francisco to Singapore (via Hong Kong), but so far I'm not having much luck. The basic timetable is as follows (all times GMT, of course):03:28:50,15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,20:09:12,08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH,12:04:03,15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,23:25:44,02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHHI've tried all types of configurations including 7 WEEK schedules each starting on a different day and ending 3 days later. For example:AC#203,N805UA,50%,WEEK,IFR,0/12:04:03,0/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,0/23:25:44,1/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH,1/03:28:50,1/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,1/20:09:12,2/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHHAC#203,N805UA,50%,WEEK,IFR,1/12:04:03,1/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,1/23:25:44,2/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH,2/03:28:50,2/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,2/20:09:12,3/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHHetc., etc....but that causes weird things like 5 copies of the flight sitting on the tarmac at VHHH and never leaving at their scheduled time.Anybody have any suggestions on how to make this schedule work correctly?TIAJeff

Hi Jeff, try the following :-)AC#203,N805UA,50%,WEEK,IFR, 0/12:04:03,0/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS, 0/23:25:44,1/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH, 1/03:28:50,1/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO, 1/20:09:12,2/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH 1/12:04:03,1/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS, 1/23:25:44,2/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH, 2/03:28:50,2/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO, 2/20:09:12,3/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH etc., etc. Your (first) aircraft N805UA went the shown leg once and then waited until it was scheduled to do it again one week later (i.e. 4-5 days later). As you created several aircraft with the same type of flightplan several of them were waiting in Hong Kong...Just finish the plan for the remaining days of the week for each aircraft, that should do the trick ;-)Clear Skies!Frank

I think Frank meant something like this:AC#203,N805UA,50%,WEEK,IFR, 0/03:28:50,0/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,0/20:09:12,1/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH,1/12:04:03,1/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,1/23:25:44,2/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH2/03:28:50,2/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,2/20:09:12,3/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH,3/12:04:03,3/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,3/23:25:44,4/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHH4/03:28:50,4/15:58:22,370,F,0806,KSFO,4/20:09:12,5/08:38:44,350,F,0805,VHHH,5/12:04:03,5/15:08:06,350,F,0805,WSSS,5/23:25:44,6/02:29:46,370,F,0806,VHHHThus, this plane leaves VHHH on days 0, 2, and 4.You'll need 2 more plans, one identical to this but starting on day 1 (leaves VHHH on days 1, 3, and 5), and the other just a one trip version leaving VHHH on day 6 (assuming these are daily flights). There is still a 2 day layover (and a 5 day layover for the one trip flight), but that's better than 4-5 days for all planes!BTW, you can probably find something else for the one trip plane to do while it's laying over.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Ah, the 'ol keep-the-same-plane-moving trick. I think I had tried concocting one of those plans but got confused when I couldn't get it back to Hong Kong at 02:29 GMT on day 0.Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I'll give it a shot.

I'd reccomend to check your AI schedule by latest version of AITM. It checks your times in accordance with the real timing and plane's performance and rejects those flights which are incorrect from the timing viewpoint. Just try to create 24 Hr YSSY - EGLL flight and you will see that AITM reject it.PS. Sorry for my bad english. Still styding.-)))

Tom,I FINALLY got around to trying out your suggested schedules and wouldn't you know... they work! Thanks again for the help.btw... I have the 5 day layover flight head on over to KOAK to hang out at the "maintenance bay" for the 5 days. I guess that wouldn't really qualify as a C check. :-) Jeff

Dimon,Another good suggestion. I'll have to try this out. I haven't used AITM yet, so It'll take me a few days to get around to it. Jeff
