Question on Real KORD (O'Hare) operations for AFCAD mod

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have knowledge of KORD (Chicago O'Hare), as far as which runways are used for take-offs and landings (assuming there is some pattern to these). I'm aware that there are 6 runways at O'Hare, so there may be various combinations. This is for an AFCAD set of files to enable O'Hare to be even more realistic- this data may be captured already in some AFCAD source files, although I can't seem to find any in the AVSIM library. Also, some knowledge on which FS gates to use for AA and UA would be most helpful (I intend to add some gates, obviously).Thanks,Bruce.

I've just completed a set of AFCAD files for KORD (layers)to make it as real as it gets. Now it is really busy, all the gates of the default airports are filled, the terminals are separated for UA, AA, UA Express, other northamerican carriers and international carriers: of course almost all the runways are active. You really CAN'T land on it with the traffic enabled at 100% (the frame rate are too low for it) but as soon as you are on the ground the feeling of the airport is great. As with every multple layer airport, you have to change the trafic.bgl file with TTools to split the traffic between the layer (a very long operation!!!)The files will be upload soon on Flightsim.com, so stay tuned. There's only a problem: when the planes land they are directed to a free gate among all the layers: does anybody know how to make the Ground controller direct them to the appropiate layer?Greetings from Italy.

Thanks, I'll keep looking. Since I never go to flightsim.com, maybe you could post here when it's available there?Regarding the a/c taxying to the correct layer/terminal, is this the issue addressed in the AFCAD manual about the airport reference point being offset (between layers)? Thanks,Bruce.

As the file is too "big" to be uploaded here, I'll upload it at www.flightsim.com next week. However if you want I could send you via e-mail. Write me at paulgerax@katamail.com.Regards.Paolo
