Generally, the repaints are just the textures and a readme file that hopefully provides information about the repaint. First extract the repaint to a temporary folder, check to see if the repaint author already provided the textures in a texture.x folder or whether they are just files without a folder. If they are in a texture.x folder change the "x" to a different, usually a two or three letter, extension, such as, AA, TWA, COL, AWE. Next copy this texture folder to the proper PAI aircraft. You will usually see other texture folders for each aircraft although some may not have any textures if you didn't download the PAI installers for that aircraft. If the designer didn't place the textures in a texture.x folder, then in your temporary folder, right click, select new, select folder, and name the new folder texture.x or whatever extension you want. Copy all the texture files to this folder, and proceed as above. The next thing is to open the appropiate aircraft's aircraft.cfg file and add a new flightsim.x, where "x" is the next number in line starting from flightsim.0 as the first, section. If the aircraft.cfg file already has a flightsim.x section or the designer provided a flightsim.x section, make a copy of the section and place it at the end of this section. You will need to make some adjustments to this section to ensure the library menu will read the file. The following is an example of how I copied the TAP aircraft and made the AWA aircraft:(fltsim.5)//square bracket here vice ()title=PAI A319 TAPsim=pai319v2model=panel=sound=texture=TAPkb_checklists=kb_reference=atc_id=atc_id_color=0xffffffffatc_airline=TAPatc_flight_number=0001ui_manufacturer=Project AIui_type=Airbus A319ui_variation=Air Portugaldescription=Project Ai A319 Only for use with Ai Traffic!atc_heavy=0(fltsim.6)//square bracket here vice ()title=PAI A319 AWAsim=pai319v2model=panel=sound=texture=awakb_checklists=kb_reference=atc_id=atc_id_color=0xffffffffatc_airline=America Westatc_flight_number=0001ui_manufacturer=Project AIui_type=Airbus A319ui_variation=America Westdescription=Project Ai A319 Only for use with Ai Traffic!atc_heavy=0If you have more than one, in this case America West aircraft, you need to have a different title and ui_variation for each aircraft so you can differentiate between the aircraft when viewing them in FS2002 menu selector or when using the tools to add them to the aircraft.txt file.Yes, you can view the PAI aircraft under the FS2002 menu selector if you have updated the aircraft.cfg and *.air files provided by David Freed. I like this option since it enables you to ensure you have installed the aircraft properly. The update is available at http://www.projectai.com/ under the forums (must register) menu item File Library, Miscellaneous Updates. David has joined PAI and the update does wonders for the PAI aircraft flight dynamics.

Just note that the proper ATC_airline value for America West is "Cactus".Bob S Reno, NV

I noticed that in most of the repaints, there are generally 2 texture files included.... "****_t.bmp" and "****_L.bmp". Some of the repaints, particularly the "unofficial" versions, only include the ****_t.bmp file. Do you need to copy the other file from a default repaint, or is the one included file sufficient to generate the aircraft??Thanks,Phil

Hi Phil, If you install repaints that only contain a ***_t.bmp file...just copy a ***_.L file over from another repaint of the SAME type aircraft. ***_L.bmp is the night lighting texture.i.e. If you have 10 B757's and you download one without a ***_L.bmp file...copy it from one of the other B757'sHope this helpsCJ PuttKTPA
