Conflict with CYYZ Overlays and AITM

Recommended Posts

I am not where exactly the conflict is but I will list what happened to me and maybe someone can figure it out. It got me.Yesterday, I managed to spend most of the day building my AI Traffic. I focused primarily on Canada and definitely have created a 'new sim'. I started off with all of the PAI aircraft then added a bunch from the WorldAI.Needless to say, I now had tonnes of Toronto (CYYZ) traffic. I imported the 4 files for the CYYZ Overlays by Dave Hazell (found in the AVSIM library) and all worked well. International, Air Canada and Cargo flights were in their proper 'Overlay'.I then accessed the AITM and this is where a conflict showed itself. I changed some aircraft around and upon saving the traffic.bgl file, during the build process, it told me it could not find YYZ2, YYZ3, YYZ4 and it would not save any flights to those ID's. So I opened AFCAD and imported the Airport Overlays again and then tried to save the Traffic.bgl file - it saved but I lost all of my traffic that was going to go to: YYZ2, YYZ3 and YYZ4. When I decompiled the files with TTools, only YZZ4 was there - not the others however when I went into Flightsim, they were available to go and visit through the Go To Airport option.I then entered manually all of the flights I lost and have not visited AITM and made a backup and tried it again. It deleted all of those same flights once more.Any ideas?

You have to add those overlays to the airports.txt file in the AITM folder. Just copy the CYYZ line and change the ICAO codes.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

First of all, I am sorry, I should have said AI Traffic Manager - not AITM.I did that at the very beginning and throughout the process (add airports to the airports.txt). In fact, that's probably the easiest step I did ;-)Nope, that is was the problem.

So it's all fixed now ? How are those overlays working out for you ? I dont have much time playing with AITM when I created the overlays. I just add and modify each airlines plans for CYYZ to reflect where they should actually park..

Yes, it is working except for Toronto at least. I used AITM to move my traffic and all is well. However, I have imported other overlays and each time I open AI Traffic Manager the overlays do not show up - if I save from there, I lose all flights that were going to those overlays.Still trying to work it out.
