What is it about FS2002 traffic????

Recommended Posts

Last night I flew from KLAX to KSFO and the skies were filled with GMAX 707's, Convairs, and default traffic. This morning I downloaded AFG's gorgeous 737-800 and flew a circuit around KFLL only to find I was the only one in the air. I went to Chicago and the same deal. I had this problem once before and all I had to do was replace the traffic BGL with the one from the FS2002 pro CD#2. I even replaced the Traffic DLL and to no avail. I have no more traffic, so now I must start completely over by reinstalling FS2002pro. Does anybody know why FS Traffic is so sensitive to some new aircraft? I was also wondering why my Dell 2ghz system with 1 Gig of Ram and my Geforce 3 T500 with 64meg DDR ram gives me frame rates around 5-8 frames per second in San Francisco, and part of the reason is the GMAX 707's, but I didn

Check to see if you have a default.dp and airlines.cfg file in your AIRCRAFT folder. If not, copy them from the FS CD (in the FS2002.CAB file?). I think these are the right files - I also have a default.cdp and kneeboard_keys.txt file, but I'm not sure if those are necessary.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Thanks Tom, I just reloaded it and everything seems fine. I am honored by your reply, and love your sites!!! I have been watching a video (probably 100 times now) called "Airliners/Airports of the past LAX 50's and 60's" and love it. Your site has inspired me to learn and change my AI aircraft back to the 60's when air travel was at its Golden age. Thanks again, and would love to see an updated FS2002 LAX from the early 60's.Thanks again,Felippo

Wow Felippo, I'd love to see that video. Is it available in the UK?

Say Tom, while you're at it, please remind folks to mark the darn things READ ONLY! That will save them enormous amounts of frustration! :)

I do have LAX from 1959 included in my CA59 scenery, along with backdated KSAN and KSFO. It's on my scenery page. This is the pre-satellite airport, east of the current one (it's where the cargo area is today). I don't know of an original 1964 LAX, unfortunately.I'd like to know where you got that video too!Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Hey Tom and Crid, I think I ordered it from an Airliner store in Miami. It is called Airlines/Airports of the Past part 1 LAX 1950's-1960's. It is about 4 clips (about 1 hour) of shots from LAX from early 50's, then mid to late 50's, a segment from about 62 or 63, and then 1969-1971 when LAX went through construction for the 747's. I will get more info to you guys on this video as it is a must for us who love early aviation.Felippo
