Hi to allI planned to use the Dash8 for some AI-flights. Therefore I first tried to fly this plane, but I was very surprised that I did not see the plane in the "select aircraft" menu of FS2K2. Is this a known fact or am I doing something wrong. I can't also select the Piper Cherokee. RegardsHenk

You need modified files to fly the plane. I believe there are some available at AVSIM, etc.BTW, to make it appear on the Select Aircraft menu, you need to edit the AIR file and change the Aircraft Type from 2 to 0.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Tom,Thank for your help. I know now that you are right. I opened the .air file (with Notepad) but I'm not able to find and alter the aircraft type. However when I replace the .air file with one of another aircraft, then I indeed see the Dash in the "select aircraft" menu. Is there a way to edit .air files??thanks againHenk

Glad to see somebody is paying attention to the Dash-8 class of aircraft. There are a lot of good repaints out there for North American and European Dash-8's, all pretty frame-rate friendly. Other continents are not as lucky. I've yet to find much of anything for Asia, Africa or South America that isn't large and jet-propelled. The Aussies and Kiwis have made good contributions for their part of the world. (Sorry, it's been a long time since 5th grade geography, and I had to refresh my mind for a while before I got all the continents.)I was just playing around in Hong-Kong and was annoyed by Orbit, Landmark and Emerald Harbor Air which just don't sound appropriate.
