Aircraft at Specific Parking Spots?

Recommended Posts

Guest CGTHX

Hey everyone,I really need some info. I''m trying to get specific aircraft to park at specific gates. I've tried using overlays, but the airport I'm doing only has one runway, so I ran into all sorts of problems. There are only five gates at this airport, used by 3 different airlines. Is there a way to connect a gate to a specific title in an aircraft.cfg file? Does anyone know a tool that will help me out, of if Lee Swordy is planning an update with this feature? Thanks.

Your first question.....That I know of, NO, theres no way to tie the two together. The only way to get specific aircraft to park at certain gates is to play around with their gate radius size and flight plans. In general FS2K2 will assign gates to aircraft by the smallest size availble for them. For example, say you have an Airbus that you have the radius size of 33 meters. If you create a gate that is 31 meters then that Airbus wont park there. The other way FS2k2 assigns gates in addition to size is by the position of the flight plans in the flightplans.txt file. The flights that are at the top get first priority for parking and than it works its way down.Your second question about an update. I haven't heard anything, but I am sure that an update with minor bug fixes is in the works.[br][br][div align=center][br][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Click Here For Weather Image of the Day!

Unfortunately, this is not possible, by Lee Swordy or anyone else. This info just isn't stored anywhere. The radius trick is indeed the only way to do it currently - here is a thread where I describe my technique for this:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID13/951.htmlHope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Thanks guys. I've tried the radius trick before and failed, but I'll read that thread and give it another go. Thanks again.
