September 4, 200223 yr I'm having a problem getting traffic to arrive at Nadi (NFFN) airport in Fiji. The 767s that appear at the gates when FS2K2 is first started will depart on time, but the ones I have scheduled to arrive from other airports never contact approach or arrive. Any clues?
September 4, 200223 yr Author Not many. The times are all GMT, of course. You must expect your planes to arrive on GMT.Second, did you set your speed correctly for the 767? You need to set your speed in aircraft.txt to match the Cruise Speed in the aircraft's aircraft.cfg file. If not, the planes won't arrive when you expect.Third, you need to wait for 15-25 minutes at an airport for aircraft to start arriving - they are placed at cruise altitude, and those too close to the airport will never arrive.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
September 9, 200223 yr Tom,As far as I can tell, I have all the speeds and times set correctly with a minimum of 1.5 hours between arrival and departure time. I'm using AITM1.2 to manage the AI traffic. I noticed something odd about the departures from Nadi (NFFN) as well, so I put my aircraft into slew mode and followed a few of the jets as they departed. During their climb, each one got as high as 8000 feet and then suddenly vanished. I then followed one from Tontouta (NWWW) to Nadi. It climbed to cruise altitude (FL330) and flew all the way to within 100nm of Nadi and then suddenly vanished.I'm thinking there is something weird about the airspace around the airport that ATC can't handle. Any suggestions?Jeff
September 9, 200223 yr He He He No, it's not in "The Triangle", hermes. But if it were that would certainly account for the mysterious disappearances. :-abductNadi is actually in the South Pacific on the island of Fiji north of New Zealand.Hopefully, Tom has some idea of what might be causing the strange AI behavior.
September 10, 200223 yr Author Nope, not me. Sounds like there is something wrong with the Nadi AFCAD file, but I have no idea what.-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
