What is going on with traffic having different barometr

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,I have installed a lot of PAI European airliners and time schedules. It shows quite a good traffic all over Europe. I am further using FSMeteo changing the weather appropriately and adjusting locally the barometric values. However, I hear a lot of calls from traffic control to other planes saying "to expedite their descent or climb to FL...." Even I hear regularly that the IFR flights of other aircraft are canceled (due to not following the traffic altitude). Is there something that can remedy that? Some hints would be welcome.Robert

I don't know of a solution - I think it's just one of the many bugs in FS2002 AI. I'm especially amused when the controller says "... you are 300 above your assigned altitude, please CLIMB to flight level ..." :-) Ian

The barometer settings of your altimeter should not affect AI behavior. AI has lots of problems maintaining altitude genrally. This happens in particular when a new AI aircraft is loaded ta the edge of the 40nm or so active AI zone around your aircraft and the jestream is pretty strong. Make sure you have the replacement airfiles for the PAI aircraft available in the Unofficial files section. This should improve things a bit. Other than that, you can just hope and pray for better weather. :-)Misha

Thanks Mish and Ian for the responsI use the replacement air files (v2), which of course improved some things, such as the B757 which before didn't get off the ground and always flew straight into the scenery. Anyway, it seems that I have to live with it. Fortunately my a/c (PSS Airbus 320) flies right without any warnings.Robert
