Adding ATC

I am trying to use afcad to add atc to an airport i made up, but to no avail. I am doing what the instructions say for me to do. They instruct that all you have to do is add a control tower to the afd file and that's it. I can't get that to work. Can someone help me. Thanks

You have to add comms frq(s) as well!:-)

Thanks for responding Rollerball. I did add the ATIS and did as instructed with all of the other comms. However when I go to the airport and set up the fight. If it is a vfr flight. I am to given a choice of departure directions and the wrong runway instructions(ie taxi to runway 3, when there is no runway 3).If the flight is a IFR flight fs2002 freezes when given the following choice. (1. for IFR Clearance). At this point I have to try again by restarting FS2002. Any other suggestions would be most helpful.Thanks

When you say you made the airport up, did you design the scenery for the new airport? If not, I think this may be your problem. fs2002 doesn't know where the airport is located by just having an AFCAD file. You need to place an airport. I suggest you visit Airport for Windows - http://www.airportforwindows.com/ or FSSC - fsscv154_107581.zip in the AVSIM library for scenery design programs.If the airport does exist in the default fs2002 library, then you need to revisit your AFCAD file to see where you made your mistake.

Hi,I am not aware that a physical airport is required for ATC to recognize it as an airport.
