AI traffic on perpetual go-around

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? I have used TTools and SimpleAI to produce all sorts of AI Traffic, but there are a couple of cases where the plane fails to land and will always abort and go-around. The airfields are my own creation - recently uploaded to AVSIM (EGPS, X6FS and X6ET) - and most a/c land ok, including TnGs if specified. Often the same a/c that wont land manage to take off from there perfectly well. Is it my AF2 file or the a/c that needs tweaking, or something else? I can't upload my AI Traffic for the airfields until I get this sorted.ThanksPaul

Hi,Two things I can think of:1. If there is terrain on the approach path, some aircraft will not be able to both get over the terrain and be able to land. Mostly aircraft size and approach speed determine this.2. If you have TNG set in the flight plan, it must be a VFR flight. IFR flights will just do go arounds.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Also, try using a different a/c at that field and see if you still have the problem.Mikewww.aimadeeasy.comwww.flightontario.comI'm confused. Wait...maybe I'm not!

Paul,As you have found out, AI flightplanned to perform TNG's per the TTools manual actually will perform IFR missed approaches for as long as you care to watch. Fortunately there is a flightplanning technique to work around this problem and make them perform IFR missed approaches to a specific time and then either land at that airport or fly on to another airport. I have attempted to describe this technique in the thread entitled "Some Observations on Flight Planning Successful AI VFR and IFR TNG's" found at the following link: http://www.fsgateway.com/discuss/index.php?topic=35412.0I hope this helps get your IFR TNG problems sorted out.Mike
