AI aircraft dissapearing before landing

Recommended Posts

Guest Bastiaan27

Hi all,I noticed some strange things happening to my AI traffic. I have quite a few new FP's, downloaded here from Avsim, and I have removed the fixed arrival time (@ symbol) from these plans because I had trouble with that earlier. The plans are recompiled by Vanderlei Martinelli's Traffic Manager (which includes Traffic Tools). Actually, the plans do work fine, when I open MS TrafficToolbox, I see all aicraft appear as they should do according to the FP's. However, after appearing, after a short while, many large airplanes and some small ones dissapear before landing. It's not happening all the time and not only with certain models, but it happens very often.AIA Boeing 737/747/757/767FSPainter A330/A340/777EvolveIA A318/319/320/321Cruise speeds taken from the Aircraft.cfg files:Boeing=477Airbus=498 (stole the idea from Just Flight Traffic 2005)AFCAD's have plenty of parking spaces available (Cloud 9 Schiphol)Does anyone has got any idea? Many thanks, Bastiaan G.

Bastaan:I had a similar problem. The answer I got was there was no parking spaces for the landing aircraft assigned to the airport. Using 'ACA2005'(freeware prog) you can have that checked by running the scan for errors function. Each aircraft type/airline is checked for the parking space code.Hope this helpsRegardsRick

Hi,They are disappearing in the sky, or on the ground? If the latter, then the previous post is correct. Note that there has to be parking places *large enough to hold the plane*.--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Hello RickThanks for the respons, I will try the freeware prog you just mentioned. I'll guess I can get it here at Avsim (?)What turned out to be the problem in your case?Regards, Bastiaan

Hello Tom,Thanks for the respons,They are disapperearing in the sky; they do arrive in the TrafficToolbox list as they should but then, a lot of them do simply dissapear. Strangely enough, most of the large airliners. What I'm doing now is check my Flightplans for errors, however I do not expect that to be the problem, since all aircraft succesfully appear as they should. I think it might have something to do with my Schiphol (EHAM) Afcad... However, there is parking space plenty. Thanks anyways, regards Bastiaan>Hi,>>They are disappearing in the sky, or on the ground? Bastiaan:I had a lot of small errors in my aircraft config files. I also found a lot of airlines did not have the proper parking spaces selected. I found that when my AI traffic is set very high and I speed up the time to taxi out some of the AI traffic ignore my plane and drive right through me. I am working on that now.RegardsRick

Rick,It seems that I solved the problem. The problem was indeed the AFCAD file. I used a special AFCAD from Cloud9 which I also modified myself. In this case AI aicraft always use certain runways independant from the wind settings. I think some aircraft wouldn't be allowed to land downwind so they simply dissapear. Now I use the standard EHAM AFCAD and all seems fine. Cloud9 EHAM AFCADS are all disasterous bye the way...regards, Bastiaan

Hi,OK, looks like you have this one fixed. BTW, the other reason they will disappear on final approach is if they have made 2 (#?) missed approaches already.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
