Need help with crashes

Had a screen freeze in FS2k2 and had to to a hard reboot. Now anytime I try to do anyting with the flight planner it immediately exits to the desktop, faster than pressing ctrl-c. I am sure I corrupted a file during the reboot. Does anyone happen to know which one and how I can fix it? I'll post my system specs, even though I am ashamed :)Athalon slot A 700Biostar M7MKA224mb RAMGainward GF3 Ti 200SoundBlaster Live valueWindows XPThanks,Richard

Try starting a flight without going to the planner. Once stabilized, select the GPS and see if it operate properly. If not, retrieve the gps.gau from your CDs using winzip or another unzipping program. Search the *.cab files for the gps.gau file.If GPS works properly then you have other problems. Did you install any new aircraft, scenery, etc. just prior to the failure? If so try to remember what was installed and remove it.Lastly, if you have to reinstall fs2002, I recommend you copy the present fs2002 folder to a safe area on your harddrive, then remove FS2002 via the add/remove programs menu, manually delete the remaining FS2002 (NOT THE COPY YOU SAVED ELSEWHERE) folders, then reinstall FS2002. Once it is stablized, carefully cut and paste addons from the saved copy. Don't cut and paste in a wholesale fashion or you are likely to corrupt the new install.Once you get FS2002 back to a good working relationship, delete the old saved copy and replace with the newly installed working copy. Then if you have this type problem again, you can delete the fs2002 folder and replace it with the backup. Remember, the fs2002 folder is going to change as you add things, so you may want to make a periodic backup.
