Virtual Reno Air Race planned for Sunday at 14:00 EDT

Announcing the first virtual Fly2 multiplayer Reno Air Race! Robert "Helibird and I invite you to participate! We are planning multiple races for different types of aircraft, including both fixed wing and helicopters. I have designed a special TerraModels 2.2 add-on scenery for the occasion. This is an approximate layout of the Biplane and Formula One race course, with six pylons. It is based on an official map of the course. Also included is a large spectator area with a tower for the announcers! I just uploaded the scenery to the AVSIM library, so it should be available soon. This new Reno air race scenery is designed to complement and work with Dominique Klein's terrascene scenery and airport models for the Lake Tahoe/Reno and Carson City valleys areas, including Stead airport, 4SD. Dominique's scenery is available in the AVSIM library. The screenshots below show the combination of my scenery and Dominique's at 4SD. Comments welcome! I'd love to add to and enhance it for the next race! I didn't add too much scenery, as I wanted frame rates to be high for the race! We will be using ASVSIM's Roger Wilco channel for voice communications, on 205.252.89.41. Robert and I will also monitor text chat on the multicom frequency for Stead airport.Robert and I look forward to seeing you at the race tomorrow!!Wayne"SimPilot"

It sounds like it should be a great time. Unfortunately I wouldn't dare display my race flying skills (what race flying skills?) in public :-), but I'd love to see this become popular. Ben.
