"Winds and Temperatures Aloft Forecasts (FDs) question.

Anyone know what "FD" stands for?Thanks,Chris

It's just a code to indicate the specific product (winds aloft forecast in this case). Some others that I can recall are:sigmets - WSconvective sigmets - WSTairmets - WApireps - UAarea forecast - FAterminal forecast - TAFand many othersLike I mentioned in an earlier reply, all these abbreviations and contractions are a throwback to the days when this stuff was transmitted and printed using mechanical teletypes. The "baud rate" was about the same as my typing speed.Dan

Hiya Bart!! I've finally gotten my graphics tablet up and working on WinXP, so who knows? If I can integrate it with TrueSpace 1, will hopefully begin that one plane I showed ya all those months ago!
