WindsAloft v1.0

Recommended Posts

Good morning all:I have downloaded Tony Crider's WindsAloft program from the AVSIM Library and onto my machine as directed in the Readme.txt file and nothing happens! Nothing shows up when pressing Alt-F6! What am I doing wrong? I unzipped to a temp file and copied the unzipped contents to my Fly!IIsystemmodulesPC folder.Am I to assume (#####-u-me) that when the instructions state "copy WindsAloft.DLL" to that folder, only that file is to be copied and not the other files, (not including the readme.txt and Avsim.diz files)? Help!! Thank you in advance for any help that is offered.Curtis

Hi Curtis, you did everything right and it should work that way. It is fine on my machine. Are you sure you didn`t miss the display in the lower left hand corner when pressing the F6 key?I use to check the winds in the weather window to see if they are changing. That`s what they should do. Sorry, if I can`t help you more, but maybe Tony might jump in here.Regards,Rodger :-beerchug

Thank you Roger for such a quick response! It's possible that I may have missed the display in the lower left hand corner, but I don't think so. I never thought to check the winds in the weather window to see if the winds were changing. :-mad I'll try it again this evening. :-beerchug Curtis

Hi Curtis,To make sure that the WindsAloft.DLL is loaded, press CTRL-T to get the task dialog and scroll through the entries. As long as it's in the list, it should be working. You might next look at the key mapping to make sure that ALT-F6 is the correct key sequence. The mapping for Winds Aloft can be found in the Global category. If you have any more troubles, e-mail me and we'll see if we can't figure out what's wrong.Cheers, Tony

Hi Curtis,I recieved your e-mail, but your e-mail address was not included in the from field, so I sent you one via AVSIM and hope you receive. If not, let me know and we'll try again. :-)Cheers, Tony
