What drivers is everyone using?

Recommended Posts

Hello all.I have Windows XP and a GeForce2 GTS running on 512MB of memory in an Athlon 1700XP. My current one is apparently the culprit on my lockups, so I need some suggestions.Best Regards.

I wonder why everyone has lockups but me (I'm neither complaining or rubbing it on your faces :()..I never experienced a lockup with WinME or WinXP since I had FS2000....I think I might be lucky in that way :(Anyways I heard the most reliable ones are the 12.90s, but I'm not sure....23.11s were good too. Also, in WinXP, you should consider turning off some of the services that run in the background...Go here (http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm)It will tell you what to do in order to free up more than 20 MB RAM!

Fabio - I'm using 12.41's with GF2 Ultras on both a Win98 and a WinXP system. The 12.90's are also quite good with a GF2. Anything newer than the 12.90 has very little change for the GF2's and will probably give a somewhat slower framerate then the 12.41's. But, in any event, if it's a lockup problem you're having I'd try either the 12.41's (my first choice) or the 12.90's. (The XP default drivers are 12.40's and they will work fine also).Trip
