EGLL - Gone with VFR Satallite-TerraScenery

Featured Replies

I am enjoying the new ground scenery of London and several other UK areas. However, since installing the "London Tile", EGLL (default TRI scenery) has disappeared. I tried installing Preson's EGLL (v422) but my machine crawls.Any ideas what is causing this?-DK----David KohlFly! DavidLooks like you still have a rogue 'taxiway' left. Perhaps from 'EGLL' or maybe if you've previously used 'Taxi-UK'.Here's is a picture of my 'Heathrow Zone' scenery minus the 'EGLL' airport scenery. Notice TRI don't seem to have any taxiways showing at all.By the way a new version is coming covering the whole of 'globe tile' 255-170, that includes down beyond Gatwick and out west past Benson. I also will make it compatible with FS2002 airport sceneries, ie I have to copy the FS2002 scale. Thanks to 'colins2' I now understand at bit more about the re-scaling required and FS2002 also happens to be 'WGS84'. This is so that we can happily import those great FS2002 airfields. The version you show above actually is slightly incorrectly scaled North to South but I couldn't tell because there were only 2 airfields in the 1/4 globe tile.Dave Taylor.

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that if I use Taxi-UK I'm going to loose the buildings? If I go back in time, at one point I had Taxi-UK AND TRI's default buildings. Since installing your VFR scenery, the buildings disappear. So it seems like there is some incompatibility with all three of these things loaded. I don't want to drop the taxiways completely b/c once on the ground, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to navigate off the runways: lack of taxiway lights, markings, etc., and the general difficulty in interpreting the TGA image at that (zero) altitude. So what is one to do if he wants your terrific VFR work + taxiways + buildings?-DK----David KohlFly! DavidDone some experiments-I also can't get the taxiways to appear from 'Taxi-UK' if I have the 'Heathrow Zone' VFR scenery in,must be overiding his 'pod', however you can get Prestons taxiways from his 'EGLL'if you just put the say 'EGLL.tms/EGLL.bgr/EGLL.txp' files into your 'data' folder. You won't get the complete scenery, with it's frame probs.Probably don't need all 3, can't quickly remember which do which, although '.tms' is obviosly the 'taxiways'.DaveT

David(s)You need the *.bgr and *.tms files only. The *.txp files are project files used by the taxiway program.Colin
