Look in the Fly2 Navigation Library for the following files:cnda_bc.zipcnda_ab.zipYou can use the following image (also in the Fly2 Navigation Library) to see which Fly2 maps overlap into Canada:maplocator.jpgIf you are using the ADVANCED search feature, search on Author Rob Westhouse and the Fly! 2 Navigation Library.I could not upload official Canadian Navigation charts due to copyright. The Alberta Avaiation and British Columbia Aviation Councils were nice enough to grant me permission to offer their Air Facilities map.http://members.shaw.ca/fly2/images/snoopyace.gifRob Westhouse, VE5VKSaskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada"Land of Living Skies"

Hi Rob....I really appreciate your response. I was almost ready to give up...but thanks to this great forum, fellow simmers came to the rescue. I have used the maplocator but it appears there is only limited coverage for Canada..so will certainly check out your suggestions. Do you guys have snow yet??? Its opouring rain here and fairly mild. Hope you are enjoying your Christmas Rob.Thanks again for your help RobRichard

Hi Richard,We have a dusting of snow here. Sounds like the South and South-East parts of Saskatchewan have a fair bit more. I'm sure all the farmers in Saskatchewan were hoping for 50 feet of snow :-). It has been unusually warm this season so far. Typically we see temps down to -30 or -40C during the holidays, but lately just -10 to -20. A few weeks ago it was even well above freezing. El Nino or whatever.Anyway Happy holidays to you and enjoy flying the Fly! Canadian Skies.http://members.shaw.ca/fly2/images/snoopyace.gifRob Westhouse, VE5VKSaskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada"Land of Living Skies"

Hmm, been a while since I played multiplayer. As a matter of fact, I haven't even had Fly! 2 on this machine for a while :+ I really need a faster machine for Fly! 2.If you want real fun experience, try out online air traffic control with SquawkBox. http://www.avsim.com/mike/sb_pc/sbhome.htm. It can be a lot of fun.http://members.shaw.ca/fly2/images/snoopyace.gifRob Westhouse, VE5VKSaskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada"Land of Living Skies"

Rob - thanks for the above pointers to the maplocators! I too am flying in and around western Canada, so that is a help. Do you know of a tool that will allow one to open the map files directly from windows? Ie some kind of stand alone viewer, so that we can peruse the map, without being in FLY2 - or a way to scroll around the map and read it from within FLY2?

Get ER viewer, a free download from ER Mapper at http://www.ermapper.com/This will work for Fly! 2 maps as they are in one giant .ecw format image. There are also free plugins avaiable at ER mapper for various paint programs. IF you notice a lot of delay when a map is being loaded in Fly 2, this is why. The entire map is loaded at once.Fly! 1 maps were broken down into very small 256X256 pixel grids and in raw format. To view them, they needed to be reassembled into one large image. Not quite as easy.http://members.shaw.ca/fly2/images/snoopyace.gifRob Westhouse, VE5VKSaskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada"Land of Living Skies"

Thanks Rob for the referral. Do you know if you can simply scan a area map and incorporate it into Fly 2?

Although a lot of the links are broken at the moment and it is for Fly! 1.0, I have a tutorial at http://members.shaw.ca/fly2.I plan to update it and include instructions for Fly! 2 maps sometime in the next 23 years. ;-) For Fly! 2, the .map file has changed slightly (open one of them with notepad to see the differences) and you now convert your scanned images to .ecw format (ECW compressor from www.ermapper.com) instead of converting to RAW format and slicing into pieces.http://members.shaw.ca/fly2/images/snoopyace.gifRob Westhouse, VE5VKSaskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada"Land of Living Skies"
