"Engine Focus" discovery!

Those of you who fly twins and wondered how you can control each engine with the throttle, simply go to the "Engine Focus" line in the "Airplane" keys, and assign it a key. In FLy2, when you press the key, you will see a small text display on the lower left of the instrument panel that indicates which engine is active. So, you will see either "Engine one", "Engine two" or all. It's a great way to use the engines when making tight turns .tony

It baffles me that we can still discover things in Fly2 so long after its release! :)Years down the road this sim will still amaze us!

Christian:You're absolutely right.That's the thing about Fly! II. It's got so much potential and so many things that are already built in that are either not fully documented or not fully implemented...I suspect we're only using the tip of the iceberg. We haven't even started to take advantage of its open architecture and Python. The complexity of the systems Fly! II can simulate is incredible, the PMDG 757 is a perfect example of it. They designed a brand new autopilot, EFIS, ADI, FMS, etc.If I could only stop working, studying, etc. and dedicate 100% to learning to code in C++, Python, etc... but I can't. ;-)Happy Holidays!Alejandro AmigorenaCheshire, CTFly! G'day Tony.If you really want to try something adventurous then get into a 747-300 set the brakes, push throttle fwd for t/o, select engine focus for #1 engine,release the brakes and start the t/o run. At sometime just prior to V1 slam the throttle back to idle and get set to catch and control the yaw just as you rotate and lift off. Then climb out on 3 engines. You can return all engines to throttle control (synch.) simply by selecting engine focus to "all engines". Make sure that you push the throttle fwd first or the loss of power on ALL engines could prove embarrassing. :-)Doing this is one way to practise loss of engine power without actually shutting down an engine.Cheers,Roger @YSSY
