Amazing new screenshots of CFS3 from E3

Hey All,Ran across these at Adrenaline Vault. There are some amazing hires shots in this group - the clouds (and many more aspects - what in the world is that flying wing??) are simply beautiful. It looks like there are tons of experimental jet power craft (that I've never seen before) included in the game. I highly recommend you view them.http://www.avault.com/news/displaynews.asp...=5232002-155149Here are a couple shots (resized) for a preview of these:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3ced71d3443e55fe.jpghttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3ced71dc4453757a.jpghttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3ced71e244656d9b.jpgTake care, http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

Hi, There is 65 shots here from games spot, I will be impress if they will not paper thin, for now there is no talk about this, no aircraft in clouds, always near the clouds. The dark blue sky colors improve alot the clouds, sadly no available in fs2k2, also the terrain still like fs2k2 "blur" and those are new shots from E3. But There still some cfs3 beta to go , so we will wait for terrain shots later.http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/produ...,556046,00.htmlThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Hi Chris,It looks like the clouds are truly clouds this time around in CFS3. Check out this post in the SimHQ forum:http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bb...TML/000047.htmlAs for the terrain, it does still look like FS2K2. Hopefully, as you say, they just haven't switched to the supposed new terrain engine yet. If not, CFS3 could be a major dissapointment. Until we know that or not, however, those clouds make quite an impact.Take care, http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

Hi, It appears is the cfs3 new engine, all is positif from "him""The water is intense and beyond anything you have seen in a flight sim""Then you ad the equally extraordinary ground terrain and then truly, for the first time in a sim you sense that you are actually flying in a authentic environment""I flew for about an hour, what an enormous game this is going to be, by far the absolute finest clouds ever seen in a sim"ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Hey Paul,I'm not seeing the cut-n-paste work on that shot that you are, but I did notice similar artifacts on a few of the other shots. I think there's still some work to be done with alpha channels, etc and thats what we're seeing. I'm sure theres no actual cut-n-paste foolery though because I've talked to a friend who's at E3 and he's flown the beta. It sounds like its a great sim so far (excluding the blurry terrain :-(), but we know how exuberant reports from a first-look can be compared to reality :(. Hopefully it'll be as fine as he made it sound when it ships.Take care,http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

I'm really interested in knowing what that flying wing is thats pictured. I thought WW2 only saw a few very early jet designs from Germany introduced to service in the last six months of the war... But I've never heard tell of anything like that beautiful wing.Somebody please inform me... And was it actually in service?Thanks,http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

Elrond,I could be mistaken, but the German wing looks like a Horten 229. The American wing is a Curtis P-55 Ascender, both experimental WW2 aircraft (AFAIK they never entered service during the war). A little bit of searching on the net should give you plenty of info about these fascinating planes. There were so many planes in design/development stage in 1944-45.CFS3 goes somewhat beyond what is 'historically correct': WW2 could extend to 1947-48. That's why these planes make their appearance in version 3. Well, a bit of CFS meets Crimson Skies :-)Hope this helps!Alex

Hi Paul W, It's a good new, it still in alpha, I remember fs2k2 was in alpha at the same month , so they will have near 3 beta and after the release, same as fs2k2, so the release should be near october.Just hope the clouds don't rotate and better "3d" and the terrain will be little better for the transition texture. Can't wait for fs2004 and even better :-) :-beerchugThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg
