Recommended Posts

Guest Fly II Pilot

Fellow Fly!ers:Yesterday I received the latest issue and "our" sim was featured in several articles."The BEST of 2002" by Arthur Weiss mentions Fly! II in the G.A. Sims category, and RealAir Simulation's Citabria/Decathlon in the Aircraft Commercial Addons category..There's also a very good article -"Fly!II Freeware Focus 2002"- by Andrew Jones that points Fly! II enthusiasts to key freeware addons. It mentions Padraic's FS_Import, Scott Cannizzaro's JFK, LGA, EWR and BOS, Vin Scimon's Philadelphia skyline, ROTW's Socata TBM-700 and Boeing 707 and Georgio Gnesda's 737-500, Citation X as well as his and Jarno Denken's Piaggio Avanti P-180. Most importantly, it mentions Avsim and ROTW's site as the source for freeware addons! Finally, a complete multi-engine flight lesson on Fly! II's Chieftain titled "Your First Charter Flight IN THE CHIEFTAIN" by Brent McColl. You can read more about Computer Pilot Magazine at:http://www.computerpilot.comIt's nice to see that "our" sim is finally starting to get some recognition...Thanks to the PC AVIATOR folks, publishers of Computer Pilot Magazine!!!Alejandro AmigorenaCheshire, CTFly! I second that.It had been a few issues since "Chieftain" series, and I has happy to see Mr. McColl back with it!Also, ROTW and several other freeware developpers finally get mention!A good issue altogether.

Alejandro,I recently e-mailed Dean Bielanowski ( the editor of Computer Pilot ).There are a series of articles currently running called Horton's Tips which are very useful for users of MSFS2K2.I suggested that now Rich has released the latest patch for Fly!2 and many people are starting or reinstalling Fly that a similar series of articles could be written for Fly!2 users. Many of the posts in the AVSIM forum are simple questions and currently the forum search engine doesn't seem to be working properly so it isn't always possible to find the answers without posting a new enquiry. His reply was that in a recent survey 95%+ of respondents were using MSFS2K2 and so there were no immediate plans to run such a series but that they would continue to feature Fly!2 articles from time to time.;(8
