placing a little landfill under Oahu International

I've been attempting to enhance the stock Oahu in Fly II. Using a combination of terrascene, some rather poor satellite images, and a bit of free-hand drawing, here's what I came up with. What this scenerly really lacks is detailed elevation data.(The taxiways are by Michel Provencher and are available in the AVSIM library as taxi-hawaii.zip.)Rickhttp://cc.ysu.edu/~rick/phnl2.jpghttp://cc.ysu.edu/~rick/phnl1.jpg

Rick,I've had Oahu sitting on my hard drive waiting to be uploaded for months now. What stopped me was that the "landfill" you refer to turns to mush when attempting to taxi out to the runway that sits in the bay. Were you successful in creating a solid surface? Also the problems with elevations you're having, are you talking about the lack of 7.5 DEMS for shading? I ask because the 250 DEMS work fine. It's been awhile now but if TS isn't reading some of the 250 DEMS it may be that they're misnamed in TS compared to the label at the USGS site. I'm not sure about Oahu but I do remember having to download and rename a Maui elevation file so that TS would read it. The 7.5 DEMS though, TS doesn't even know are there -- and they might not have been when Todd released it. Good luck with this. I like the cityscape.Don

Don,The default scenery was so bad that it kept me from flying in one of my favorite areas. My Oahu is not that good but, for me, much more enjoyable than the default. As you pointed out, I haven't had any success where the elevations are concerned and a few of the taxiways are just too "damp" to use. ;-)If you've got the elevations figured out, I'd really like to use your scenery POD. Any chance I could get a copy?Rick
