CFS3 Report from E3

Recommended Posts

For those of you that cross dress to the dark side of simulation (that is, combat flying), you might want to take a peek at the front page and have a read of Maury's AVSIM report from E3. :)

Good lord... I didn't know I was a cross dresser until today!!(edit: ^ file that under words I never thought I'd type ^ ):-eek :-scatter The things I learn at AVSIM sometimes just shake my world. Now to make that call to my mother... Ugh.:-lolGreat report by the way. Can you get the full size screenshot up of the B-25 Mitchell though? Clicking its thumbnail shows the same thumbnail. Thanks for the report Maurice and Tom. http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

Wow, it sounds like the 2d cockpit might be a thing of the past in FS2004.

I guess we're all going to have to start learning how to build virtual cockpits.

Yea John, that caught my eye as well. I think the ridiculous combination of the 2D/virtual panels will be over for FS2004 as it apparently now is for the upcoming CFS3. The one downfall is that 2D only panels such as Dreamfleets 737 will probably no longer be able to be used. I wonder how panels made with 2D and virtual (such as the PSS A320)with the bulk of the useablitiy in the 2D view be incorporated into FS2004? Right now, there are no click spots and the ND is not useable in the virtual cockpit view. Interesting to see were that will go.I am hoping the cloud situation will finally be put to rest with FS2004. CFS3's early reviews coupled with this report at AVSIM show promise of this issue being finally resolved. For Tom Allensworth: Will there be an interview from the MS guys there at E3 about any possible early details of FS2004?

Thanks for the report. I learned a couple of things that I hadn't seen mentioned elsewhere: the entirety of the UK will be included at 120 meters resolution--that should make for some excellent flying--and there will be detail down to the fields of grass. And then there are those clouds to fly into....This one should be a real breakthrough. Quite a number of others have posted glowing reviews of LOMAC too in the SimHQ forums. I think I'll be flying a lot more this fall.
