Paul Brooks Birmingham scenery and IrfanView

Recommended Posts

Installed Paul's Birmingham scenery yesterday.Excellent job Paul, thanks.I used IrfanView v 3.8 and had no trouble at all by following Paul's instructions for that and also for Terrascene, neither of which I have used before. To all of you who have been put off by the problems David Taylor mentions don't be. If I can do it then so can you.Allow plenty of time for the terrascene generation.I have tried to download his Teeside scenery but get an error message when I try to unzip it. I have since tried to download it again but keep getting cut-off during the download. Is anyone also having trouble with it?:-wave

That's good to know flyfisher, because it helps me to decide whether to upload pods (which as you know are very large) or the jpegs.I would be interested in knowing how the other people who have tried this method have fared.Paul

Hi Paul :-wave I really do think this is a better Idea in uploading the files instead of a large pod. Sadly my computer just cant hack the work tho'So in this scenery package I will have to dream about instead. Th o' I do plan an upgrade a few months after my holidays. Keep up the fab work.Regards, Steve.http://mysite.freeserve.com/fly2theuk/aragon.JPGUnited Kingdom Sceneryhttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/search.php?Se...y2tms&Go=SearchRepaintshttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/search.php?Se...y2Air&Go=SearchOther fileshttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/search.php?Se...2Misc&Go=Search

Paul:I TerraScene'd Birmingham as per your instructions. I haven't flown it yet but plan to in the next day or two. But I got no errors creating the POD so I assume everything went as planned. I use PhotoShop Elements. I converted the JPG to TGA using Photoshop's "Batch" process.I plan to do other TS areas you've recently uploaded over the next several nights. On my PC, I can kick it off when I go to sleep. Slicing and Podding is done by AM.-DK----David KohlFly!
