C4TO 3.2 Problem

Recommended Posts

Guest desmondw

Hi Folks, I think I am the only one having problems with the new C4TO, I am at CYYC with a flight plan to CYXD which I am cleared for, take off, Fly to but then don't get any Descent instructions, change to aproach etc & I fly right over the airport at 21,000 ft. I had the same thing happen with 3.1 with patch. The last C4TO I got to work was Version 2 & it worked perfect. I have removed that Version before installing the new ones so am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly apreciated as I do love C4TO, many thanks for all the hard work put in to it. I am flying the Air Canada DC9-30, I have also had this same problem flying to other Airports. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hi,I really need to see the C4TOv3.log file. If you can e-mail it to me via AVSIM, I'd be most appreciative. By the way, I doubt very seriously that you are doing something wrong. There is a bug concerning the descent logic that I've been trying to track down, but haven't had any success in reproducing.Cheers, a frustrated Dr. "ATC" Tony

Hi Tony, I made the flight from CYXE to CYWG with the same result, no descent or approach so crossed the airport at 28000ft. I don't know if this makes any sense but I got transferred through the various controllers to 23000ft then the ATC chatter started & I did not get any more instructions until I requested higher altitude, then I had the message in the bottom left side of the screen telling me to tune to a different freq, I auto tuned to that freq & tried checking in then got the message to tune to a different freq which I auto tuned to & got my request granted to 28000ft. I was switched to a different later, no problem. Then when I was about 65 miles from Winnipeg Int. I requested lower altitude & was granted it to 27000ft. Not long after that I flew nicely over CYWG at 27000ft.I hope this makes some sense to you, Here is the C4TOv3.log of that flight:Begin C4TO LogVersion = 3.0Aircraft Information Name = Douglas DC9-30 Registration = customac Heavy = 1FlightPlan Information *COMPLETE ROUTE* SASKATOON J G DIEFENBAKER INTL Comm Channels SASKATOON = 118.30 SASKATOON = 121.90 SASKATOON = 126.70 DEP = 119.90 ATIS = 128.40 ARR = 119.90 MF = 118.30 WAYPOINT SEFFY Bearing = 186 Distance = 49.6 NAVAID LUMSDEN Bearing = 103 Distance = 95.8 Frequency = 114.20 NAVAID YORKTON Bearing = 54 Distance = 97.6 Frequency = 115.80 NAVAID DAUPHIN Bearing = 84 Distance = 91.5 Frequency = 116.10 NAVAID LANGRUTH Bearing = 119 Distance = 65.2 Frequency = 112.20 NAVAID WINNIPEG Bearing = 108 Distance = 64.5 Frequency = 115.50 WINNIPEG INTL Bearing = 182 Distance = 1.0 Comm Channels ARR = 119.50 ATIS = 120.20 CLNC = 121.30 DEP = 119.90 GND = 121.90 RDO = 122.50 TWR = 118.30 *END OF ROUTE* Total distance = 465.3 Departure Airport ID: CYXE Arrival Airport ID: CYWG Requested en route altitude is: 26000 Initial Course is: 186Flight Plan Frequencies Clearance Delivery = 118.30 Departure Ground Control = 118.30 Departure Tower = 118.30 Departure Control = 119.90 Center = 127.60 Approach Control = 119.50 Arrival Tower = 118.30 Arrival Ground Control = 121.90 Departure CTAF = 0.00 Departure MULTICOM = 0.00 Arrival CTAF = 0.00 Arrival MULTICOM = 0.00 UNICOM = 122.80DEPARTURE AIRPORT (SASKATOON J G DIEFENBAKER INTL) INFORMATION: Winds 214 degrees at 5 knotsRunway #1 is runway 33 Length is 6200 feet Magnetic heading is 327 Crosswind is 113 degrees from the left Runway is not usableRunway #2 is runway 15 Length is 6200 feet Magnetic heading is 147 Crosswind is 67 degrees from the right Runway is usableRunway #3 is runway 27 Length is 8300 feet Magnetic heading is 267 Crosswind is 53 degrees from the left Runway is usableRunway #4 is runway 09 Length is 8300 feet Magnetic heading is 87 Localizer frequency is 109.90 Crosswind is 127 degrees from the right Runway is not usableThe active runway is 27End C4TO LogHope this helps, Desmond

There is another oddity I've been meaning to comment on - I don't think it was introduced by the new DLL rewrite, because I used to see it on the "C4TO classic" as well.Sometimes the controller goes into "rapid fire" mode, where he spouts off tens of instructions in a row as fast as he can. It sounds something like this, with _no_ pauses whatsoever between messages:"Kingair whatever, turn right heading 160""Kingair whatever, turn right heading 170""Kingair whatever, turn right heading 180""Kingair whatever, turn right heading 190""Kingair whatever, decend and maintain 9000""Kingair whatever, turn right heading 200""Kingair whatever, decend and maintain 7000"etc...I'll sometimes get 15 or 20 of these in a row. Since there is no room in there for me to ack anything, he gets mad and starts chewing me out for not replying to him :)I haven't been able to narrow down a particular thing which triggers this yet.John/madmax
