Recommended Posts

Guest Bart

Took #1 house ape up in the Katana tonite, I think this one wins the Cheezy Smile of the Year!! Going to have to bring a few phone books next time so he can see over the panel. The smile after we landed wouldn't fit in the picture :)bartsflyplace.tripod.com/cheezysmile.jpgif you want to see the pic just copy the address to the address bar and hit enter.Weather wasn't to good tonite so we just did a few T&G's. Going to try again on Sunday, throw some pics up on my site if we make it out of the pattern :)c ya :-waveBart flyhelp@zoomtown.comhttp://bartsflyplace.tripod.com/pics/ryans...ight/flight.gif http://bartsflyplace.tripod.com/bart_logo3.jpg

Great shot! I know we're in for some rough weather the next few days, but I sure hope it begins to clear as we approach next weekend. Two reasons - I'm pulling the golf clubs out of hibernation...and you know the other. :-)BTW - just finished another GT. I'm calling it Huntington, as the WV city is almost smack in the middle of it. That gives you Ironton further up the river, and Ashland, KY, etc.

:+Looks like Sue is working till 5pm so I can take off and be at Bolton by about 530-545. Let ya know for sure Sunday or Monday. You prefer Katana or 172? If I bring the Kat we'll have to eat at JP's AFTER the flight!! weight limits and all :), if I bring the 172 I'll grab the Millenium Falcon

and drag the rug rat along, he loves to do "serpentines" across I-71 when I let him take the wheel :)Huntington aye? HTS is a nice x-country, follows down along the river, drastic terrain change, goes from the flat floodplain around Cincy to some very pretty foothills toward W Va., nice trip to take in the fall. Of course you have to stop at the greasy spoon (Skyline) at Portsmouth (PMH), then go stick your head in the WACO hangar and druel for a bit :) c ya :-waveBart flyhelp@zoomtown.comhttp://bartsflyplace.tripod.com/pics/ryans...ight/flight.gif http://bartsflyplace.tripod.com/bart_logo3.jpg

That looks like an old friend of mine. :-)It doesn't matter - it will be a thrill for me to be back up after all these years, regardless of the aircraft. In my short tenure I flew mainly 150s, 152s, and 172s. I also had time in the following: Cessna 208, Piper Cherokee 140, Cherokee 6, Aztec, Beech Queen Air.Your description of the new scenery area is spot-on. The Huntington tile starts up just after Portsmouth. I'm now working on the tile that covers the journey from Cincy to Portsmouth - this will be the Maysville tile, and includes a good part of Kentucky.

Maysville, that should pick up Fleming-Mason Co. Airport too. Favorite x-country run from Blueash...52 miles. Run down there, stop by Lunken on the way back for a quick burger at Sky Galley :).c ya :-waveBart flyhelp@zoomtown.comhttp://bartsflyplace.tripod.com/bart_logo3.jpg
