Most clubs are happy to have 100 folks or so and have fun with their hobby. I wouldn't get depressed about the billions(:-) of users who are not using FLY2. If we were in the business of making money with the produst , that would be a different story. I enjoy flying it, working on it and not feel "addicted" to all the many, many add ons for the other sim. Think about it? I've got Msfs2004 and have not purchased anything for it because I wouldn't know what to get; there's just too much of it. don't get me wrong, if FLY2 becomes the sim for the undergrounders, with some development, I don't have a problem with it. Where should a sim go? I don't know. When flight sims were very new, a panel with text and a few lines was exciting. Now that we have so much reality, I do less flying and more wishing. I hope that this is not like consumer's addiction, where buying the thing is more fun than using it. I am happy with FLY2. I've discovered the joy of panel editing as a hobby and the beauty of flying a sim that I've grown to love. tony

Hi Tony,I think the same way like you do, It's fun for me to develop new models, when I know it doesn't excist allready for the sim. If't allready excisting why shoud you make it again? just that yours will be "better" then what the other guys made??? I don't think so....... that's why I love Fly! there's so many to develop for this sim. I really like it, just keep enjoying panel editing! And I'll keep enjoying modeling.................Thanks

I have FS2k2 installed and very detailled sceneries of my country and the region I live in. I got all helis I fly in as a crew member in real life, they have high grafical quality. FS2k2 is running with very high framerate, I have no technical problems.WHY THEN do I use it max. 5 % of my (virtual) flying-time??? Because after some time it gets BORING - it just does NOT match my real-life experiences! In my opinion its to synthetic, not only "clean" but "sterile". There is no thought at buying FS2k4!In FLY2 (and I must admit, in X-Plane in some way) my imagination is much more stimulated in the way of "feeling" all those parameters which disturb a linear flight through the air (wind, turbulences, your special aircraft). Very important for me is also HOW objects and scenery is displayed (sizes, optical perspective).THAT is the reason I got back to FLY2 after getting a more powerful computer this year and I use it more than 60% of flying-time. And when I found this forum an all these hints and helpful members I decided to start some active work for FLY though I have to improve my skills and learn much. But I think it's worth. On the background of no further activity by TRI I think of the motto of an X-Plane-user I read when downloading something: "If life gives me lemon, I'll make a lemonade". Every time there is activity for FLY2 we get a new glass full of SWEET tasting lemonade!KEEP FLYING!Georg (EDDW)

I've mentioned this a couple of times. Even though I'm tha last Fly! II user I'll keep it alive. I took a look in some amazing FS2004, bealtifull, complete, etc. etc. etc. But I just don't get in love with it.While you decide to continue to support and use Fly II, you will have me together.JJLobo

I have & use all three (FS2002/FS2004, X-Plane V7.10, and FLYII). All seem to strike me as being quite realistic depending on my mood, where, and what airplane. Guess I don't get that "sterile and synthetic" feeling! :)L.Adamson

Hi Jan,thank you for your personal interest. I hope there was no misunderstanding as I am -- NO -- pilot. I'm back in the cabin, serving (as one part of my job) as a doc in air-resue since 15 Years together with a HEMS (left seat) and the pilot (right seat). Actually there are 2 BK 117 helis from different organisations we work with, the ADAC (yellow painting) directly located at our hospital with hangar and landing-platform, the DRF (red painting) at the EDDW airport nearby in the neighborhood (1 minute flight). Main task of ADAC is primary care of injured people or with life-threatening events (i.e. myocardial infarction), DRF does interhospital transfer of patients (even long range). But they change their role if needed, for instance if ADAC is on duty DRF will do primary care.My job made me rotary wing addicted. First keen to learn all about technical basics, heli flying know-how (had some small fixed wing experience) I got stuck to the first MS flight-sim with a heli (was it FS95/95?? Forgot it!). Luckily I did not know anything about the worse flightmodel, trained hours and hours with 100% reality switched on because I thought the bad control of the heli was caused by me, not the sim. Since then heli-flightsimulation (and a small RC-heli) has played a very important role in my life.Jan, some time ago you helped me improve flight-model of the Bell407. If I remember right, you also have some personal relation to real-life copters???To say it with your words, just curios about it! And if you have any question our pilots can answer, please let me know now or later (vollnhals-bremen@nord-com.net).Best regards, Georg (EDDW)If interested, here are some pictures to look at: ADAC BK117 Christoph 6 on platformhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43917.jpgDRF BK117 meets Ju52http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43918.jpgCrossing Frankfurt airporthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43919.jpgSpecial VFR conditionshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43921.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43922.jpg

Hello Georg. Many thanks for your photos and answer.I thought you were some kind of a rescue team member.Must be a great job.Nice shots. We used those landing platforms earlier for the Bell 212's.Could be scary during winter landings, when packed with ice.I work as a mechanic on helicopters.Have been for many years now.At ENZV.Even in Germany on AH64's.I might need one more tester on my Dauphin project. And with your skills and background, would you be interested? Take careJan

Hi Jan,really a GREAT offer. I am very intested! Will give my very best within my personal limits. Send you a mail.Could not but fire FLY and get to Stavanger. Very nice airport-scenery. I will add Terrascene-Stavanger tomorrow. Searched for your working place. Found 2 possible areas- Military part of the airport (Redningstjeneste 330 Svadron)- Civil part of the airport (Helicopter Service)I think it's the last one. There must be much heli-traffic to the Norwegian oil-platforms as I expect. Not a bad job for a heli-fan!Best regardGeorg (EDDW)
