Dhc6_plus, aileron oposites

Recommended Posts

Guest spenik

I have Just down loaded the Dhc6 and I am loving it! It's so nice to be able to set the auto pilot without looking down anymore! One point however, hit me while watching from the out side views. The ailerons move in the oposite direction that the should. The plane turns in the right direction, But the ailerons move in the wrong one.I know this is but a slight over sight and has little effect on the planes preformance, but I thought it a little odd.I would post a pic, but I know olny enough .html to write( :-) )

Hi there, If you wanted to see it changed. Open your POD and search for a .wng file in there you will find a line which says "aileron partname"just put underneeth this text to get the animation reversed. Easy job! -- Reverse Keyframes -- if this line is allready there, just remove it! -- Right Wing/Aileron Section Data wing Right w/Aileron -- Airfoil Name -- Wing Airfoil -- Win Area (sq.ft) -- 66.75 -- Wing Span (ft) -- 20.625 -- AC Location (rel. to MAC) -- 13.4375,0,2.5 -- Incidence Angles (deg) -- -2.0,0,6 -- Use Ground Effect -- -- Ground Effect AGL (ft) -- 15 -- Ground Effect Fudge Factor (should be 1.0) -- 0.3 -- Ice Drag Coefficient -- 0.10 -- Flap Entry -- -- Control Channel -- RightAileron -- Keyframe Model Part -- aileron_rput the text here ---> -- Reverse Keyframes -- -- Lift vs Flap Angle Data -- -1.2 -- Drag vs Flap Angle Data -- 0.3

Thanks! Only, how do I open a .pod file? When ever I try, Fly!II opens instead.

G'day Bob,Go to FlyTools folder and run PODVIEW.exeThis will let you view the Dhc6 pod files.Open the dhc6 pod and highlight the *.wng file and select "extract highlighted files" and extract the file to a temp folder. Then using explorer double click on the wng file and it will open in notepad.Make the changes you require and resave the wng file.Place the wng file in the flyworld folder.Make sure you have "searchpodfilesfirst=0" set in the fly.iniNow every time you select the dhc6 things should work just fine.Cheers,Roger @YSSY

G'day Leen,This is just a stab in the dark Leen but have you tried only reversing one of the ailerons. Maybe the double has the effect of reversing the ailerons twice which of course would still leave the ailerons working opposite to their correct sense.Cheers,Roger @YSSY

Hoi Leen,You have to make sure that the added line is right underneeth the aileron partname and not at the beginning of page! Also you have to make sure that you used the TAB key on your keyboard to skip spaces between the border line and the first letter of the text NEVER USE THE SPACEBAR otherwise it won't work, Don't ask me why but it is just as it is.Prettige avond
