Little Helper Tool

Recommended Posts

Guest HeliFLYer

Hi FLYers, all things sorted in your FLY! folders? OR several *.ini, *.ren, *.RTR, *.AMP files, not knowing the exact differences? Wishing to analyze two different airplane files, you have unpodded? Then you should have a perfect tool for that! Found it yesterday when looking for some Delphi algorithm.Angus Johnsons gives it as FREEWARE AND SOURCE Code. You mustn't be a programmer at all, get the package TDiff Version 4.0 from Freeware Delphi Components & Utilities by Angus Johnsonhttp://www.users.on.net/johnson/delphi/ When you have downloaded the package "diff.zip" then you will find the sub-zip "TextDiff.zip" included in diff.zip with the COMPILED file and helpfile - only copy TextDiff.exe, Textdiff.hlp and Readme.txt into a folder of your choice and run it (very easy to use)!Should be a great help for you! THANK YOU VERY MUCH ANGUS JOHNSON!Output-window (fly.ini versions):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58947.jpgBest regardsGeorg (EDDW)

I am using a similar utility everyday, couldn't live without such a thing. The father of all seems to be Microsofts Windiff which resides on many Windows install disks, for some reason mostly ignored by everyone as I consider it unusually useful for a MS program (no flame intended). Personally, I am using examdiff which has some nice options (www.examdiff.com) and if you prefer a single-pane implementation there is also CSDiff (www.componentsoftware.com). All of these programs are freeware and and I found them useful at some stage. With so many tools around, they got to serve some purpose one should think ;)Thanks for reporting your finding, GeorgChris
