Coast Guard V1 update

Im sorry Guys but I have recieved an email off another repainter, that he has already started this repaint of the Dauphin. Im not going to upload mine now. Take your last look!http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=vie...t&file_id=79722This is the 7th repaint, it may be a few more, that I have lost now. This is something I have been going on about to my former team mates, and it stands true and has happend again. Why?I knew the Dauphin would be so popular, and its tif file is near perfect for repainters to do anything with.I say this only as a guideline, not as a nasty comment, to anyone. Some form of organisation is needed, not a free for all. I can push out 2 repaints a day if I wanted and I dont want to discourage or be discouraged anymore.Thats why I truly left F2FDesign as a repainter, if everyone is doing it, why have one? Im only being honest. To stop anyone elses HeartAche, or mine, it may be a good idea to state your intentions. When you see so much hard work go to the bin as I have, it wrecks your soul. By the way, the repainter who sent me the email I think very highly of and have encouraged him to carry on. I count him as a true friend, but I dont want to discourage him by uploading my version.Im sorry Alex I will use the Hoist on the red version OK.Your friend, Steve. My Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orghttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/ysomdesign/

Im seeing how discouraged Im getting over all this. Its not fare on you guys, I see it would be best if left. I hope to return to Fly2 in the future, but my health is as such these little setbacks to some, but are mountainous to me and are now creating problems for me and my family. This is sad as I have a number of projects I would like to complete for you all.I have some models uploaded for Ken, Jeff and for Georg and Cord. These are at my Yahoo page listed below. You can use these models how you want and were, just give the usual credit in the readme. I will upload some more in a few days. Then its finished. My computer isnt on the net anymore, I have to use my wifes laptop and she sees all my emails. She had read all my private F2FDesign ones and isnt happy with me.Please if you send an email, keep in mind Im not the only one who reads it.From time to time I will sneak in an upload, if Im up to it. If they have not been deleated I will upload the files and work Im halfway through.SteveMy Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orghttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/ysomdesign/

G'day Steve and all repainters,Mate I have been doing repaints for Fly! II probably longer than most.Back in the early days Peter Sterling and I communicated pretty well regarding who was doing what liveries. It was reasonably easy to control as there was basically only the two of us. I wasn't that interested in doing liveries of American airline companies. I agree with you that we do need some form of concensus amongst the repainters as to who is doing what. There is currently about half a dozen or more active repainters. It is a tragedy to see work and effort go into the bin. Maybe Flydeveloper.com could be used for this purpose? A register of current repaints being done. It wouldn't be too hard to control. The alternative is to simply have multiple repaints of the same livery. This is the all american concept on free competition and ideally such a policy should lead to raising the bar on the quality of repaints, BUT it then makes the process a competition which may discourage newbies and drive people away from the hobby. We need as many repainters as we can get.On a personal note Steve what I said in my email still stands... I will not upload. So please go ahead and upload yours. If you have bined it then get cracking with your paint brushes :-) I repaint as a hobby for the enjoyment I get out of just doing it. It's like a creative therapy to me. Does anyone else on the forum have any thoughts on the matter.? If this issue is not addressed it will simply fester and drive people away. Just my thoughts on the matter,Cheers all,Roger @YSSY

Similar to MSFS - why not have several versions of the same repaint? Yes, it *could* be viewed as a *competition* amongst repainters, but with only a handful for Fly!, I myself do not see a problem with several versions. I don't go into the MSFS forums, so I do not know if this is a problem with that community or not. I believe our community is adult enough to not go sniping as to who has done the better version. But to avoid conflicts on Fly!'s point of reference to aircraft menu, repainter's would have to communicate as to a podded version's naming. In my view - "The more the merrier!". :-)Many Cheers!Ken Wood :-sun1http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewkw.jpgGateway 700X; Intel P4 2.4GHz; 512MB RAM; NVIDIA Ti4200 4X AGP 128MB; SB Audigy; Thrustmaster TopGun Fox 2 Pro Shock

Hi to Steve and all the other FLY!ers who read this1.I agree to all who say the best is to communicate BEFORE parallel work is done. Many of us, me too, are a little bit shy to tell about things in development as different problems can cause delay in finishing the project. But as we are only few active people compared to other sims it would be better to tell about the activities we start. This could avoid any annoyance and in the best case help to build a creative team with the same interests (if wished). I personally learned through this discussion and will tell you some details about my Landsat 7 scenery project in development within the next week in this forum so that everybody here knows what is on my work-bench.2. If there are two projects of the same sort it is absurd to throw away one. Therefore, you two repainters, upload your versions and let us decide which one to use BUT NOT discuss it here. And thenfor the future let us announce our projects in the forum.3.Steve, my friend, we all won't loose you. Take a break, enjoy some other activities and may be after some days you'll see the things more relaxed. So many people are discussing the problem you brought up, we take it serious! But we all have to make some compromises.Georg (EDDW)

Many thanks Cord, Im glad you like it.I did get yours,Rodger`s and Georg`s Emails. Many thanks guys.I just havent had time to reply, I took Georg`s advice, and my family and I spent the day out by the Sea, and visiting more Castles.Im just slowly tying up all my loose ends here and finishing all my projects, so you guys have them. The large pod I promised of 250 models I made will be uploaded shortly. Dont expect quality Biber models here, I could never match his experience in 3d modelling yet. But at least you have extra things to look at. The files I said I will send you Cord you will get in a day or two OK.I may not post here in the forum but you will see my stuff on the "whats new area".All the best guys, Steve BrownMy Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orgMy Repaintshttp://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=...&Go=Change+ViewMy Modelshttp://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=...&Go=Change+ViewMy Sceneryhttp://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=...&Go=Change+View
