A dream came true.

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,Yesterday I took place in a lovely Schleicher ASH-25 glider. It was situated ona a grass-strip somewhere in Ireland near Dublin. After asking for a tow, a funny red-checkered Cessna 172 turned in front of me and after a short moment we ware rolling and went up-tothe air.Slowly getting some altitude I had a great view over the nice Irish hills and the old workhorse doing his towing-job.Then I let go the cable and used my instruments to find some thermalsafter a few minutes I found the magic cloud which lifted my higher and higher.Another cloud gave me a helping hand to get some more hight and after a short hour I returned to the grass again.Did I really have this great experience?Yes I really did. With FLYII , naturally ;)http://fly.simvol.org/telechargement_fly2/...gesfr/ash25.htmRegards,Leen

Hi Leen,I am just downloading this ASW 25 glider (system?) and I am very curious about it. I already enjoyed the ROTW glider towing with the PA18, if it is now possible to sit back in the glider .. it will be a big adventure and joy. I hope that FLY! can simulate the effects of thermals, until now I found it only in SFS5 (a specialised glider sim). Now I know exactly what to do this very late evening ..And once again thank you very much to all of you ROTW people and F2FD.Georg (EDDW)When I was a very young man I had the chance for some glider flights. When we returned to the field I had the impression that we were too low. I was a little anxious, asked the pilot about that and he pointed to a graveyard short to the field and in our flight-line: "Whatever happens they won't worry about us".Today he is the captain of a big airliner, don't know how his announcements are.

Hi all,As Leen pointed out, this is a sort of beta project : it works perfectly but it can be improved in many ways. As we worked on it since many months now, I couldn't wait more to share it with you all for the big pleasure it gives me as a ultralight flight addicted.Hope this can please you too.The second idea behind the project was to show how Fly! is a great program and Richard a "genius" programmer : he made a sim that can be developped in all the ways you want ... from the light aircraft to the heavy (see PMDG great planes !!!) ... and this freedom of development is the Fly! gem. laurent (rotw)

Thank you very much for this new glider, and the possibility of thermals in FlyII.Took it for a flight, and it reminded me of the time I flew hang-gliders,searching for thermals.Later I had a French Cosmos trike, with little chance of soaring :) Very nice job.Great to have people experimenting with all the possibilitys in FlyII.Janhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg
