Hi fellow simmers,I always read about other people problems and distress, sometimes mange to help a bit. This time it happened to me! As usual, I double-clicked the FS2K2 icon. As always, I watched patiently at the standard opening screen. Usually, it takes only few seconds with my AMD 1800+ and 512MB RAM. This time, it last forever. PLEASE HELP!!! What can I do before re-installing? I have tens and tens of add-ons, please tell me that I don

Hi ShaytHmm can be caused by video; I would try rename fs2002.cfg in main folder to say fs2002.old, then restart; I have had this and it works for me.Reset your settings in resolution etc in the normal way.Sun

You did not tell us much. We may not be able to help you much. Did you reboot with F8? Go into control panel, take a look around? There must be a dozen or ten dozen possibles here. I'd do that right off. Just do an F8 start, and a Safe Mode run , and look at the control panel. Go to Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information, and then to File Checker. Let Windows check for a lost file. Have your CD handy in case it finds one or more lost or corrupted. So on. Lot to think about for such a small problem huh? Lots of luck.

SHAYTI HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT IT WAS THE NAV/GPS GUAGE IN THE DEB THAT WAS CAUSING ALL OF MY PROBLEMS. I DELETED IT AND SUBSTITUTED ANOTHER NAV/GPS GUAGE AND HAVEN'T HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS PARTICULAR GUAGE CREATED THE PROBLEM. COULD BE THAT THE FILE WAS CORRUPT? I HAVE HAD NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS AIRCRAFT. IF YOU HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN IT MAY BE A PLACE TO START LOOKING.

This gauge that caused troubles for a minority of the users and was removed-a whole different gauge is used in the patch for the hsi and master switches. The gauge was a fs2000 gauge-for some reason it works fine on the majority of computers-for another reason it does not on some. It was replaced by "the patch" available at avsim.Thanks,Geofhttp://members.telocity.com/~geof43/geofanim2.gif

ShaytGlad you got it going...the cfg file will rebuild itself only if the one you have is renamed. Yes it is usually some add on or say vid driver setting that causes these problems.Have funSun
