Where in the US (or elsewhere) would you like to Fly! ?

Folks,At Wayne "Eagle" Robert's request, we have posted a survey for you to tell him which airports you would like him to focus on.If by now you don't know who is Wayne or what he does then you've been living in a different planet :-spacecraft (or you're new to Fly! :-newbie).Just in case, Wayne (aka Eagle) has been "populating" US airports with Allen Kriesman's TerraModels Scenery Development System since May of 2002. He's the second "Most Prolific Uploader" to the Avsim File Library, with 630 uploads as of today! Please cast your vote [a href=http://f2fdesign.com/WayneRoberts.html]here[/a]!!!http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

Thanks for posting Alex, unfortunately though I'd like to see some Canadian airports modelled, I don't know of a good source for photos or aerial maps. Hey, President Bush is flying into Ottawa this morning...maybe I should wander around the perimeter fence, taking photos of the airport from every angle? Hmmm...maybe not :-)Chris WallaceOttawa, Canada

Chris,"I don't know of a good source for photos or aerial maps."Well, I've found one for you. Go to [a href=http://bathursted.ccnb.nb.ca/vatcan/vatcan.html]Vatcan[/a] and then go into each of the FIRs. They have most of the airports' approach and runway charts there and in come cases they even have aerial pictures!!!Take care,Alexhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

Cool...if there's one group of people more unnaturally obsessed with their hobby than flight simmers, it's gotta be virtual ATC'ers.Chris WallaceOttawa, Canada

Funny you tell me... since I'm also one of those... ;-)Well, not since my son was born because I just don't have time. But about two years ago I used to spend hours controlling the Argentine airspace. Talk about reality, we were even more efficient and offered more radar coverage than our real-life counterparts!!! In fact, I had to teach pilots how things happen in real-life such as mandatory position reports and estimates (due to the lack of radar coverage outside the Buenos Aires TMA), and they didn't like it. They said that was too primitive.Guess I'm "unnaturally obsessed" squared... :-hahhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

Dear fellow Fly!ers,I see that 107 people have read this message. Let's suppose that there are duplicates, do you like 50%? That leaves us with roughly 53 or 54 people, our of which only 9 took the time to respond to the survey. How much of your time does it take? Maybe a minute? After all the time and dedication that Wayne has put into the hundreds of airports that he has created, doesn't he deserve a minute of your time to give him some input or to just say "Thanks Wayne"? We all talk about keeping Fly! alive but it's this kind of reactions (or lack thereof) that really makes me wonder if this is possible, and therefore if it's worthwhile to continue to spend time fixing things, creating aircraft, and developing new techniques to share with you.I guess you don't realize the negative and damaging effect that this has on the addon developers' and desginers' motivation to continue to create free stuff for Fly!, for free, for you.Same thing with the moving lights and the propeller fixes that I recently posted. Several people read it and downloaded them (I can see how many times a file is downloaded from our site), yet only a few of you cared to give some sort of feedback. What's wrong with you?Sincerely,http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

Sorry, Alex. I have been too busy with FLY2 development and have not flown for months. That's one reason as why I didn't bother replying.tony

Tony,I wasn't really thinking of you or anyone who actively participates in the forum. I'm thinking more of those who regularly stop by, read, take what they like and don't care to even drop a line saying thanks, even if it's in another language...You don't worry about my rants and keep developing... ;-)By the way, did you try the lights stuff?http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

I would like to echo Chris Wallace's wish for models of airports in Canada. It would be great to have scenery and models for a few airports in Southwestern Ontario . I would like to try this myself but the learning curve seems a bit steep, and I likely need a bigger hard drive and memory to accomplish such a job. I have been flight simming since FS came out on a 364k floppy and keep trying MSFS, but then keep coming back to Fly! because of the flight dynamics and the user friendliness for operating all the systems. I really appreciate the work that the regulars do on this site!Brian.

Alex & Wayne;I am sorry that I have not been updated on the fly forums lately.I have'nt been able to send messages to this site as the dail up connection has been giving me trouble.Although I wish to say i agree with wayne as he is the hardest working scenery designer , ( besides Steve , And others that the name escapes me for the moment ) You all know who you are ! That is the reason why i left F2FDesign, For the reasons that no one really wanted to give thier feedback, Except of course for you alex, Your feedback and help Is why I gave you the permisson to help me with the web site and finally the ownership of F2fDesign.com Noww that i have my laptop back in my possion things will be getting betterThanks for the Really Hard Work taht ALL OF THE DESIGNERS DO :)Now to get all of wayne's Scenery into an EXE File that i wont have to spend FOREVER to download all of those Wonderful ScenerysYou know Dail up sppeds I guess Jeff

Brian,Go to F2FDesign and cast your vote at Wayne's survey. My guess is that he's going to arrange his priorities based on a) the places most asked for and :( the availability of reliable and updated information for model placement. We now seem to have a source for Canadian airports...So, head over there... ;-)http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg
