Malibu / Navajo magneto's .............u/s

Recommended Posts

Alex,I'll be curious to see what this does with the Seneca performance. I've found the aircraft handles well and seems to be within the published "envelope". If the power for the Seneca increases, would this require a retooling of the flight dynamics by ROTW?

G'day Alex,>Tonight I'll try to fix the Navajo and the Seneca... I can't>think of any others...What about the "Dragonfly". ?? I've deleted it from my hard disk so I don't know whether it borrows code from the Malibu or has it's own code.Cheers,Roger

Alex,If I understand these sets correctly, we are to add both sets of files (TRI1 & TRI2) to Fly!II?

Randy,TRI1.zip contains the three files for the Malibu (aka Harvey) while the TRI2.zip contains the three files for the Navajo (aka Java). If you want to have both aircraft fixed then just place the contents of both files into the respective folders.Just keep in mind that if there are any previous changes to one or more of these files, they will be lost because I used the original aircraft files. I know that there was a propeller fix for the Navajo but I don't think it involved changing anything in the .AMP, .CKL, or .PNL files.By the way, I didn't notice much difference in the Navajo between both or a single magento. There's certainly a slight drop in RPM but I don't know how much that affects performance.Hope this answers your question...http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/banneraa.jpg

Hi Alejandro,On changing over from any aircraft, the magneto switches seem to work correctly in both the Navajo and the Malibu if the change of aircraft is made with the engines shut down.If the change of aircraft is made with the engine/s running, all magneto switches in the new aircraft are always in the "off" position, though the engine is still running, and the rpm reading is what would normally be seen with both magnetos on. In this case, switching one of the magnetos to "on" (giving 1 on and 1 off) leads to an rpm drop. The next change of switch setting has the expected effect, i.e. if the same switch is returned to the "off" position (giving 2 switches off), the engine stops; alternatively, if this first switch is left in the "on" position and the second magneto is switched on, the rpm reading rises back to normal, as expected with both switches on. So for any given engine, everything works correctly after the initial "both-off" setting of the magneto switches has been disturbed. Thanks again for the fixes.Regards, Dugald

I know I did one of the propellor fixes for the Navajo and unfortunately only posted it in this forum... the link is dead now. I'll have to look up what I did (and when :-roll ) and see if I can get it back up (this time into the file library) and make sure there are no conflicts with this current fix.BTW thank you Alejandro for this, yes you frequently amaze me :)Zane
