Hi Jan,thank you for your helpful explanation, I enjoyed the new screenshot very much, copied them all on my HD to have some further looks at them (as well as your hints). Now I know it is a AS 332 L1 Super Puma you are working on (at least at the panel), ok it was my fault that I thought of CRTs where the black holes in the first screenshot were - but it was just a placeholder for instruments.Though I am still working on my Landsat project (if I had known at the beginning how many hours I have to put into that, I never had started it ..) and FLYTweaker (which also took many hours until now, but is a real joy for me as it helped/helps me very much to improve my FLY! performance. Look out for the new version after this weekend) I plan to PLAY around with some panel work for the BK117 this summer. It depends on getting a better photo quality wheather I go into more serious work or not, I have to use the equipment I have :( I will come back to your offer and contact you via eMail if I have questions, thank you in advance.BTW: the scenery of your last screenshot looks like desert?, did you FLY! over the Arabian Emirates to visit Abade? Or has Norway changed it's global outfit since you are producing a lot of oil, too?Anyway, have a nice time these wonderful spring daysRegardsGeorg

Hi Georg. Thanks for your contributions to FlyII.I hope you get finished with your projects,so we all can enjoy them.Don't mind the photo quality too much, after some retouching it will appear great. Most important is to get started, and testing out way to do things, and learning from it.He,he,no it's not Norway. And not the Emirates either. But Somalia.I was making some videos.Flying fast and low over the rooftops with the Blackhawk Down movie soundtrack in the background.Nice effect. If you have some shots from the BK117,especially from the FlyII views,I would like to have some of them. You never know what happens ;)So longJanhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg

Hi AbdullaDo you have pictures of any Emirates Dauphin? Maybe we can make a repaint for you in those colors.I don't know the settings for the 407.You have to find some that suits you.Same with flightplans. No idea.Very nice picture of the Chinook.Great helicopter. We had two of them in my company earlier. They always landed them like aircrafts.High speed, nose up,and hit the runway with the rear wheels. And lowered the nose when at standstill.I enjoyed a testflight once, where we made a lowpass over the heliport, at VNE.Thought the roof panels would come down because of all the vibrations. We still have some up here for maintenance, but military one's from the Dutch airforce.Nothing beats the Chinook when it comes to sound.Janhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg

Hi Alex.I have thought about that myselfe many times. In the Amp file the rotor is called rNum 1,so there shouls be room for a rNum 2 I guess. But the flight controls and mixing in the Chinook is another chapter. And I'm not sure if Fly handles a helo without tailrotor. But it would be the ultimate helicopter for a PC sim!At least to get it right. There is some for MSFS,but non behave as they should.Maybe we should try ;)So longJanhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg

Hi Abdulla,it is nice to have another heli addict with us. Thank you for the personal regards. I am just coming back from work (late shift) and it is the beginning of the new day here in our time zone. Therefore I can only give you some short hints now, more to be followed if you are interested:1. To get some satisfying flights with the original TRI Bell 407 it is a MUST to change settings in the fly.ini and some of the Bell 407 associated files. The first is the easiest - if you use my new version of FLYTweaker (1.6) which you can get from the beginning of the next week at AVSIM you can change those values with mouse click. I collected some values from the Forum and through own experience and called them "recommended values". Click on "apply recommended values" and safe the file. Then you have a base for improved flight behaviour of the Bell 407. Here two screenshots:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114573.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114574.jpg2. Some people did some tweaks with the Bell in the past, one of them was our common and known friend Jan from Norway. This was a base for me to do some further tweaks as I was unsatisfied with 1. too much power (with max load, 80% torque and straight and level flight the speed was too high!) and 2. tail rotor crash was shown in a ground near flare though you could easy see in an outside view that the tailrotor was many feet away from ground! 3. helo behaviour in ground effect was too bad (ship and roof landings).I did not pod and upload this version until now as I used parts of the work of other FLY!ers and just improved it. But I think I will do it the next time and if I give credit to those other FLY!ers for their work this is no bad. Might help you too to get a better Bell.3. I gave some hints about helis and FLY at the FLY! wiki. This work has just started and is not finished but you might have a look at it. I just tried to get the link but the wiki is down now :-(4. I personally have a rather precise joystick, a seperate collective /throttle and pedals. Therefore I put the exponential (aircraft - options) to (10 -) 20% and the trim steps to 1. Gives a better feeling for modern helos with rigid rotor, they behave very direct on small control inputs. AND I am used to control my little electric RC-helo with rather small inputs, especially in HIGE.Hope that helps you a litte, just ask if you want to know more. And thankyou for you photos, would like to see one of your local airport/helo base. I am very curious, never have been in that area you are living. All the best to you, AbadeRegardsGeorg HeliFLYer EDDW (Germany)

Hi Jan,as soon as I have done some better photos I'll mail them to you. But it will take some time as I first will do some programming the next weeks. Then I'll try to get the FLY! side-views - as far as the camera's wideangle view can get it, may be I have to take these views in parts to be combined as with the front panel. We'll see about the quality, it is just a trial and error game.RegardsGeorgBTW: did you read what I wrote to Abade? Would you mind if I take some of your (older) tweaks for the Bell and some additions from me (and other FLY!ers) and pod a new version? Sure I give you credit for your work!

Hi Abdulla,is that YOUR controller - I am really jealous - or do you just send the pic to show what could be bought? Anyway, if you HAVE cyclic, pedals and collectiv you are good equipped. You can do many helo missions with FLY! if you just use the objects you find in the library or you already got with FLY!. Start FLY!, then CTRL + E, place your objects in the scenery, save them, finished. The editor is not very good but usable if you train a little. Our friend Jan made some wonderful objects, ie oil platforms as we have here in Northern Europe (not Germany, we are a poor country!).Here are same mission samples (he, you man from the sunny side of the world, get some European weather into FLY and make the mission as we do it in reality under Special VFR, pilots get a little sweaty then)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114766.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114767.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114768.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114769.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114770.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114771.jpgFLY!Tweaker will be on AVSIM at the beginning of next week. I am just doing last tests as I want to have maximal security for the user, always backups and so on.Best regardsGeorg HeliFLYer EDDW
