Vans MD-80 virtual cockpit solution

Recommended Posts

There's been a lot of discussion lately about the Vansairco MD-80 series cockpit. I must say I like the aircraft but I can't take the virtual cockpit. So here's what I did. Change your Views section of your aircraft.cfg file to the following (as an example): [Views] //eyepoint=57.581, -1.564, 4.178 (this is the original line) eyepoint=64.581, -1.564, 4.178Then download one of the Md-80 series cockpits at Avsim.com or flightsim.com that has interior views ( I like Marco Spada's re-work of Paul Golding's MD-87 panel. It helps a lot. From there you can tweak the panel to your liking. I added an autobrake and fixed the forward view downward slightly to see better.Just a thought for everyone....Lee

Check some of the other threads on this aircraft before you buy though - it is not the quality you might expect. The pics on the Vans website don't really show you how bad the VC really is - it might as well not even have a VC.
