Fly 11 with OS X

Recommended Posts

Guest CharlesH

Hi All:As anyone had luck in getting Fly 11 to work with OS X Jaguar? I just got the dual G4- 833 MZ and it loads up just fine, but joy stick does not work. I have a logitech Forcefeed back. It works just fine in OS 9.00. I tried all suggestions. Still does not work. Any help would be appreciated.Charles

Charles,I believe no one is getting flight control devices to work with 10.2. My limited experience with Jag (had daughter's eMac here for a few days before it went to the dorm room) was that booting into 9 and then running FlyII gave the best performance I've ever seen on any Mac. On the other hand, rates in 10.2 were not much better than this old G3 produced before I added the processor update.Seems that Jag does somethnig to 9.2.2 that is really helping, and you get to use your input devices in 9. Give it a try and let us know what happens.

First I am in doubt over booting in system 9 with a new G4 "mirror" : with my new G4, on launching Fly, it's automatically Jaguar who takes the control, not the system 9.2. Maybe on an old G4 with Jaguar, it's not the same thing.Second, I have the Nvidia card (64m of memory) and FlyII is very fluid and fast.Third, I was able to operate my yoke with Gampad Companion.Four : I had many problems with the keys definitions in FlyII until I modified the entire file, a boring work.Good luck !
