I'd like to update my aiport.pod

Featured Replies

Hello,I tried unsucessfully to update the original airports file, navs file...Actually, i'd like to add few airports wich does not exist in the original fly2 version, like many french airports.I tried deximport with VirtualPC but it ask me the pc version of Fly2 that i don't have, and db import doesn't work with fly2.So do you know a way to update those pod files with my mac and without fly2.exe.If not, is there anyone who can upload a recent airport file.Thanks.PACParis,FranceG3 B/W 450512MbReadon PCI 32Mb

Pac,I haven't done what you're attempting, but I recall that others using VirtualPC get a copy of FlyII for Windoze to accomplish the update. The resulting file can be used for either platform.I don't know how software is marketed in France but, over here, FlyII for PC sometimes shows up in the "bargain bin" at computer stores for a fraction of the original price.

Pac,You can get a functional fly.exe on VirtualPC by doing the following:-copy your FlyII folder for Mac version in a new place, -in VirtualPC, apply the latest patch (240) for the PC on your copy. -go to python.org, and install Python1.6.1, for Windows, and copy the Python16.dll that ends up in your Windows/System32 folder in the Fly folder.-you may need to download DirectX8 or 9 from Microsoft. That should be enough to get a working PC version of fly.exe (it worked for me). I could only get fly2slice.exe to work on XP Home edition, though, not XP Pro.The first step is very important, and do not blame me if you corrupt your original Fly2 installation! If you update your airport.pod, can you send it to me?Thanks,-Francois

Thanks Fran
