Fly2K and Mac OS 10.3.9

Recommended Posts

Guest Steevers

I'm understand that Fly2K will run only if I boot using OS 9. However OS 10.3.9 does not allow booting using OS 9 even though OS 9 is present for my classic applications. Does anyone know of a solution for getting me back in the air? Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless you have a dual boot Mac, i.e one that will either boot from OS9 (not classic) or OSX, then I'm afraid that you can only run FlyII version 2.5.240.I think that the last dual boot machines were available a couple of years ago and were G4s.G5s will not run OS9 only Classic.Hope this helpsPaul

Paul, thanks very much for your response. You hit the nail on the head -- mine is a 1-year old G5 and I was hoping that what I suspected wasn't true. Oh well. Thanks again.

It's been years since I last ran Fly! 2k, but Fly! II does run under OS X - I just tried in under Tiger and it worked quite well. ------------------------------Franklin TesslerDP 800Fly! for Mac Co-moderator

Franklin,Did the flight stick work with Panther? That's been my problem trying to run in OSX--I can't get Fly! II to recognize the USB stick. X-Plane has few problems by comparison. In X-Plane, after the scenario loads for the first time, I have to wiggle the stick to "wake it up." but, after that, it works until the next time I restart X-Plane. Minor bug that requires little effort to deal with, so I've not pursued it further.A

Hi, Allan.I didn't try my yoke - it was so cool to see Fly! II running that I didn't want to be disappointed. :)Things should be interesting now that Apple's gone over to the dark side. I wonder if Fly! II will even run on Intel Macs?-Franklin------------------------------Franklin TesslerDP 800Fly! for Mac Co-moderator
