Extracting cockpit gauges??

Recommended Posts

Guest

Can FlyII cockpit gauges and systems be extracted to display individually on a monitor in a homemade simulator? FlyII is one of the most realisitic simulators I have found, but to get the full experience, I would like to display the cockpit panel guages separately to the outside view. Looking at the many websites on this topic I see that MSFS2000/2002 is used extensively along with other programs like Aerowinx Precision Simulator, it would be a shame if FlyII could not also be used in this sort of high level realism. The minimum would be to display the aircraft panel on one monitor and the outside view on another (or via LCD projector). Is there any development on this line, or can the program be manipulated to extract this information?Kennair.:-zhelp

One way to do this is to use a program from ROTW called Fly2Lan. It allows you to run two computers linked to the same Fly!2 session. On the second computer, you could easily create a display that only showed the cockpit/panel, while the first computer showed the outside view. You can read more about it on the Simvol site: http://fly.simvol.org. Look under "Projets Fly! II". I believe there may be some working on other solutions, but this one way to do it.

Fantastic, thanks Dan for your help. I'll take a look at the simvol site. I just hope it's not all in French.Ken.
