"Must-have" AI traffic utils for 2k2?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering - After reading about the AI traffic plans and utilities I'm at a bit of a loss because I'm not sure where to start.Lee Swordy's program apparently needs Microsoft Access to work, which I don't have.Beyond that, I'm basically looking for a list of utilities I need to be able to add AI traffic. Thanks,Andrew

Andrew,I'm new to the AI arena, but was pointed to a program called YRoute that uses TTools. YRoute is a graphical program, which makes understanding TTools simple. You won't need MS Access. Just read the doc files. Go to TTools forum and look for the post: "New AI traffic tool (yRoute - Freeware)"RichardP.S. Don't make the mistake I did. I made some AI flight plans and set then to display at 50%. Couldn't understand why the AI aircraft wouldn't show up. Finally realized that my AI slider was set at 40%.

I would say that the following programs are what I found to work the best...of course this is my viewpoint here...1) Traffic Tools: TTOOLS, for compiling and decompiling your traffic files. No MS ACCESS needed to use2) AFCAD: For editing and/or installing edited airports. No MS ACCESS needed to use3) AI Traffic Mover v1.0: A nice little program to help shuffle and organize your aircraft and flights. A new version should be out soon with some updated features.- Josh

AI Taxi Speed is a must. It prevents go-arounds at busy airports because you can make the planes clear the runway much faster. For AI traffic, I use AI Shuffler Pro. What it does basically, is that it takes all your aircarft that you have isntalled, looks at the airline, aircraft model etc, and then it generates routes based on that. I like it because it's quick and easy, and it generates fairly realistic routes. I have most major European and North American airlines as AI traffic now, and some Asian and Middle-East airlines.

The v1.10 of the Reality XP Flight Line Avionics generates the airport_gates.dat file needed for the Traffic builder SDK. It reads all the modified and standard gates and parkings in the BGL files! Hope it helps!
