"Floaters"

Help...Even though I have had Fly 2K for some time, I am just now getting into the scenery thing... The Scenery for LAS Vegas from the file library looks like a good starting point, but THE RUNWAYS COME OUT 50 FEET IN THE AIR.Any ideas on how to get them down to earth?I noted in a couple of other scenery downloads that there is a mention of having fixed the floating runways issue, but no mention, anywhere, of how the fix is done, or how to do it with the scenery editor. Have tried "Flatten airports" option to no avail. Thanks Guys.

Are you using the program by Peter Jacobson to place the taxiways? Are you using the default FlyII scenery? If you will tell me what airport you are using I will give it a try.

No... I am using the Las Vegas scenery file that I downloaded from the avsim library (lvpro060.zip)I have tried the "Flatten airports" option in the fly editor, but by the time I taxi to the end of the runway, the pavement is higher than the Rudder of a 757.I sure appreciate it.

I think your problem is the Las Vegas scenery. I develop my airport scenery using the default FlyII scenery. People tell me that after installation they have floating autos and buildings. This occurs because the scenery has changed from the default. I don't know how to correct this.I would suggest that you use the program by Peter Jacobson to place the taxiways. I have not received any complaints when using his program. Also I use the program by Allen Kriesman to create the airport scenery rather than the FlyII Scenery Editor. I do use the Editor to reposition buildings on the airport. If I can help let me know. Don't give up as you may find a solution to the floating buildings and then you can tell us all how to correct the problem. If you want you can send the zip file to me and I will see if there is anything I can do.
