An interesting bit of history

Recommended Posts

I was flying i the South Bay area the other day and saw a speck up on a mountain to the east. I flew over to it and found it was the Lick observatory. I racalled the story I had heard about how it came to be and thought I'd share it with anyone that has a historical bent like myself. Rather than mess up the facts, here's the official story...http://www.ucolick.org/~mountain/mthamilto...James_Lick.html Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I think it's great drama...Art

Outstanding story! Thanks, Art. I'll have to fly by the observatory again, but with a slightly different perspective on what I am (virtually) seeing.Dan
