Concorde contra B 747

Recommended Posts

I was watching the flight of Concorde in FU II. After take of from SFO he(?) flew west and after maybe 20 min. turn back. Than he met B 747 ( probably ) & they flew together for a moment. After a few minutes B 747 was ahead so Concorde is flying slowler than B 747 !!!Jokke, is it possible to modify cruise speed to get bigger speed for Concorde ?You may see it on the screens below.:-hmmm

Hi Bogdan,I am not sure about FU2, but certainly it can be done in FU3. I checked FU3 aimodel.pl (that is used to make the aimodel.dat), and it says Concorde is using the values for B767. It has its own placeholder in the list, so we need "few" values for the good old Concorde to make it fly the way it is supposed to.Here is the info needed for each plane to fly correctly:COMMON:Thrust, Weight, max_rpm, climb(feet/min), takeoff dist, landing dist, stall(knots).SPECIAL:There are several "situations" of flight, and they are:cruise, <10k, C&D, downwind, aproach, final, climb, takeoff, touchdown, acceleration, brake. For each "phase these values are needed:speed, power (percent), turn (standard rate used), flaps (degree), gear (up/down), atttitude (angle).Attitude can be computed automatically, and the "flaps" column doesn't work according to LG documentation. Now this presentation is not too clear here, but I can send you the "info table" needed for the plane, or if we have any other Concorde fans knowing the plane inside out I can send the table to them too.Regards,Jokke

Concorde doesn't fly quicly in FU3 too, so we need to modify cruise speed. I didn't study aimodel yet ( maybe at holiday time ) & I haven't hex editor to make changes. So if you could send me new aimodel ( and the table for a future ) with the speed corresponding to more real, I'd like to test it.B. Adamski
